    Temp swings using ITC 308

It's in a thermo well through the lid. Never had that big of a temp swing.

    Temp swings using ITC 308

I ferment in a SSBT brew bucket and installed a thermo well in the lid. All settings are 1 degree. Once fermentation starts I normally experience a 2 degree temp swing but today I see a 5 degree swing. I don't use any type of heating but looking for ways to prevent that much of a swing. For...

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

Brew day is complete except for clean up. Aimed for 1.055 but came in at 1.052. Oh well it's still gonna be beer. Hopefully it turns out great. Will say it was a pretty gummy mash.

    SS Brewtech Brew Bucket

I have one. Don't use an airlock. I added a thremowell and use a blow off tube. As for the valve it sucks. That's the one drawback about the Brew Bucket. The racking arm that fits on the inside has two cheap ass o rings that never seem to stay in place. If used keg lube but doesnt really help...

$10 yeast and $10 shipping, no thanks. Yeast Bay isn't that special to justify that cost.

    Monk Fruit

    What are you drinking now?

I see the regular version once in a while at the grocery stores but most times they are past 3-4 months old and i don't usually buy anything past 3 months. I'll have to keep an eye out for the DDH version at restaurants I go to. The one I posted the photo of was on tap at one of the casino's on...

Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

I've never been able to get that haze. They have all turned out somewhat hazy/cloudy but my NEIPAs have all cleared before the keg kicks. I'll be brewing an Oat Cream IPA maybe next weekend using 20% flaked oats and 20% oat malt. Either going to use Conan or 1318. Still trying to decide on...

    VPN'S & Internet Security

Is anyone using a VPN or mobile internet security apps on their mobile devices? If so would like details on what's being used and which to stay away from. I visit alot of places that have public wifi, most of which require a password that is displayed in that establishment. Just trying to...

Foam Issue In Corny Keg on new brew?

I agree with Trippr, you beer is probably over-carbed. Purge all the CO2 out of your keg. You will have to do this several times until you get no more co2 release. Once that is done, set your PSI to 12 or whatever the chart says and let it sit for a couple days, maybe more. If you have a...

First Brew Still Fermenting Away - When Is It "Done"

All yeast perform differently. For me, my beer is usually done no later than day 5, most times before that. My last brew was on 2/22 and it fermented vigorously for 3 days then stopped. I normally leave it in my fermenter for 10-12 days at which point I will cold crash (using a mylar balloon...

First Brew Still Fermenting Away - When Is It "Done"

You need to check the gravity. Most people do it in consecutive days to verify the gravity is the same. Most yeast is done within a few days. I cant say I've ever had yeast still working some at 10 days. My last brew ( 2/22) I used S04 (rehydrated) and as of Monday there was little activity...
