Just tried this years offering and while it's a pretty decent pumpkin beer, it's definitely not the Pumking I've had before. Not nearly as sweet as in years past, and there's almost no vanilla in it, just the spices. Maybe my clone will come out somewhere inbetween this years and last.

Sounds pretty interesting, but with 6 lbs of pumpkin I'd increase your rice hulls to at least 1 lb if not 2, they're cheap insurance to a stuck mash. Good luck!! I plan on brewing my latest attempt at the pumking next weekend if I can get my rig finished by then!

Thanks fellas. I think the issue was I sucked the MLT dry on the previous test and it just couldn't get prime even with 10 gallons on top of it. I drained everything and ran my spray nozzle into the pump and started again. Seems ok so far.

I'm in the process of doing a dry run on my new rig and I'm having issues keeping the pumps running. All of my pumps are mounted to the bottom of the vessel and they worked like a champ with cold H2O, now that the water is hot I'm having issues keeping the pump running:mad: Any suggestions????

I was having difficulty getting my calibration done on my sensors so I unhooked the tubing and blew into it to see if I got a change in the volume on the volume screen. No Dice, but when I suck on the tubing (easy fellas) I do get reaction from the sensors. What do I have wired backwards...

It helps to filter the grain bed and prevent a stuck mash in all grain brewing. Wheat and pumpkin create a mash that gets stuck easily, these are the only 2 I can think of where it's a benefit but I'm sure there are others. Unless you are using wheat or pumpkin there is no purpose for them.

Depending on how the panel is set up you may be able to add some weather stripping to help yourself out a little. Like others have said, depends on where it's going to be mounted. Can you use it, sure, should you? That's your call.
