BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

@Gregg TeHennepe no problems here with licensing, just launched BC and checked license. Did you by chance rename your computer? I did that once and I had to get in touch with BrunDog to update things.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

@swimIan I am using same relay board and same valves, but with 24v powersupply. I have not had any issues with it, I have 4 total that I am running. So I know the setup works, so maybe it is just not wired or setup properly in BC?

    Regulator questions...

regulator reduces the output of the tank, so no you do not want hook directly to a gas manifold. There are secondary regulators that will do what you want for dispensing different pressure. EDIT: that's what I get for responding to a thread I opened in a new tab like 45 minutes ago, lol...

    Lager not lagery enough

Camden Tablets also help, at least I believe that I read that.

    Lager not lagery enough

Just to push the point on hot side aeration, it is the ENTIRE process from start of the day to the boil, not just the boil. LODO is removing oxygen for the entire process up until pitching yeast, then add oxygen . I have not done that, as I am not setup for that, but I do at least underlet in...

Best base beer for sour plums

Oud Bruin! Basically a brown base. I did a sour Oud Bruin last year with red and black plums that I really enjoyed!

Upright Keezer, 8 taps, 11 kegs

Same here, EVA tubing but I am no longer using the push-in fittings, too easy to crack. I have the keg overflow setup and the elbow now has a crack. Mind you, this sits in a storage container until needed when filling a keg, it is not being used roughly and it has already cracked and you can...

    Your Favorite Liquid Yeast Brand?

I have OSLO from them, not as clean as I was expecting. It still had a slight fruity taste to it. My neighbor pretty much only likes pilsners and he was not a fan of the one I did. Probably pass more for a Kolsch maybe?

    Your Favorite Liquid Yeast Brand?

Bootleg Biology here, I have been stocking up my supply for them the last two years. Still have the MTF Funk Island going for my Golden Sours from the last time Home Brew CON met in person. They are mostly for sour and wild yeast, however they have been releasing some clean strains lately as...

direct-connection keg post to faucet for serving carbonated beer?

I am really not sure what the design flaw is, it works as advertised, I have 2 of them. However a lot of people tried to use them in kegerator with beer tube after it, which is not what it is designed for as it already reduces flow heavily. Maybe they are doing another design for use in...

direct-connection keg post to faucet for serving carbonated beer?

This will work for you, exactly what it is designed to do. You need to get the beer faucet adapter as well to connect the faucet. https://www.williamsbrewing.com/Home-Brewing-Equipment/Kegging-Equipment/Ball-Lock-Keg-Connectors/-KegLand-Stainless-Flow-Control-Ball-Lock-Threaded

Fermenters - is there anything new??

Sorry, should have been more clear. Take the clamp off of that and discard the 1/2" fitting, now you have just the stainless screen that you can clamp onto the dip tube.

    Shoutout to everyone’s favorite LHBS

My LHBS is Cap N Cork Homebrew in Macomb, MI. Great group of guys and are always very helpful. Hopefully with things go back to somewhat normal they can get the homebrew club going again, they only had one meeting and then pandemic! They now have a full online store as well thanks to the...

    Dry hopping... Much later?

As stated above, keep oxygen out of your transfers! The only other thing I will say is that perceived bitterness along with original hop flavor and aroma drops with age as well. Now if you are talking about holding on to the second batch for 4 - 6 months before cracking into, you probably will...

Overbuilding Brett starter to save bugs

Agreed, I normally do 7 days, sometimes longer for starter. I also do a larger starter than normal and keep the extra for later in a 1liter mason \ ball jar. No cold crash and decant on these either, you keep it all or pitch it all. If it is all Brett, then keep it room temp. If it is mixed...

Fermenters - is there anything new??

@beersk - why not try the larger screens like Kettle Screen Stainless Steel 6" , you will just need to press down on the stainless a little where you want to clamp it on the dip tube. By the way, I only referenced brewchatter site as I was looking at the other screen. I also do not have the...
