Mail order smack packs in winter?

I didn't know it would be a problem when I ordered them. I smacked 3 packs yesterday morning that froze during shipping. (-18 when delivered) 12 hours later, one was inflated, 24 hours after smacking, 2nd was inflated. Third still as flat as when I smacked it. I don't think I can post...

    New Perlicks

They are semi-local to me. I called the other day to see if I could stop in and pick some up, they are down to one in stock, but will be getting another 99 in tomorrow. :)

    Lets talk Soda FAQ!

I don't have the package anymore, but I did a google search and found this: This is for the Splenda/Sugar blend. The ratio for straight Splenda is lower. Looks like you use 1/2 of what the recipe calls for. Mine seemed a little too sweet for my tastes, possibly because I kegged so no...

Can I brew in an open garage w/out dying?

Isn't there any danger of fire with the heat rising to the wood rafters? I hope not, because garage brewing would be so much nicer. -4 degrees here currently. I will definitely bring out a CO detector.

    Nottingham Yeast

I am new, so take this with a grain of salt, but 15 hours doesn't seem like enough time. Give it a couple days and see what happens.

    sanke tap leaking

I haven't put mine together yet, but the couplers I have use the 1/4" flare fittings also, so that I can use a sanke if I so choose. I got all of the couplers and the flare nuts, but didn't know I would have to order the washers. I'll check around locally, hopefully someone will have them...

    sanke tap leaking

Are those washers something that could be picked up at a hardware store? I need a few and I don't have a LHBS.

New Kegerator - Any Advice on Leaks?

Do you have some kind of worm clamp or hose clamp over it? If not it would snug it up a bit. Congratulations on the kegerator!

    Lets talk Soda FAQ!

I made a batch of rootbeer with a friend with a splenda/sugar mix. The package says the ratio for sugar replacement. We used that and it tasted good. What are people using for faucets for soda? Right now I have a picnic tap hooked up, but I would like to put a real tap on the door for...

    Hello from Iowa

Hi, I have been lurking for a few days now. Just getting started with homebrewing, but after trying the first batches I did with some friends, I am hooked. I enjoyed the experience, and want to learn more. I am now obsessed, and am working on configuring a kegerator, and what I want to put on...
