    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I did some digging and this is an oddity with Qt as far as I can tell. It escapes some characters (like ampersands and greater-than signs) like it should, but it doesn't other characters. The really hard part is figuring out how to fix it. I'm still working on it, but for right now the best I...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I asked. The answer seems to be that Ubuntu won't update a package in stable unless it is fixing a show-stopping kind of bug. I'm not an ubuntu sort of person, but I think we do have a PPA? https://code.launchpad.net/~brewtarget-devs/+archive/ubuntu/brewtarget gives the details. Don't...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

One of us at least. I try to avoid the build systems if I can. I will ask a few others and see if we can get something posted to brewtarget.org/downloads. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I will get a bug report opened on launchpad and look into it. I thought we had fixed this when we did the xml -> database conversion, but apparently not. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

v2.0.3 is now up for Windows. As a rule, going to http://www.brewtarget.org/download.html should show the latest release for most OSes. It's a bit easier than digging through launchpad. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I think that is because we don't have a Windows build for 2.0.3. Not sure why that is and I will ask. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I swear I will clean all of this up one day. You will need to click the mash paddle in the tool bar at the top of the window. When that window opens, select the mash you want to delete in the drop down list, then click the big minus sign next to the list. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

:( For reasons I am not understanding, the boil SG calculations are paying attention to the kettle to fermenter losses. I will open the bug report and get the change checked in. In the meantime, use the profile without any kettle to fermenter loss. Thanks for the help in tracking this...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Wicked. The XML files will help. I will dig in and see what I can see.

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

There is not a lot of information for me to work with here. The only way I can get that to happen is if I mark every grain as "steeped" instead of mashed and I mark everything as a "late addition". Can you first verify that your mashed grains are marked as "mashed" and not late additions...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

So should I ignore all of your post, or just the part about coming in 0.5 gallons lower than expected? Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

We offer packages for debian here https://launchpad.net/brewtarget Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Which version? I am randomly guessing that it is v1.2.4? We rebalanced everything around the v2.0 release and there isn't quite as much deadspace. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I will look this over. I found some research braukaiser has done on this, and his data indicates that 66C (~151F) provides the highest potential attenuation. His research shows potential attenuation decreases about 4% for 1C (1.8F) over that. Interestingly enough, the research also indicates...

    Good software

If you can find the math to explain the relationship and I can actually understand it well enough to implement, I would be happy to look into it. Just as a warning. The second is likely going to take longer :) Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Huh. I thought we had merged that in earlier. Sorry for the confusion. Mik

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Heh. That crash was one of the fixes between v2.0.1 and v2.0.2. Check your imported recipes and make sure the styles are correct. Thanks for the compliments.

    Brewtarget Fly Sparge

Ok. That makes sense. Let me look into it and see if I can make that happen. Mik

    Brewtarget Fly Sparge

We are using https://launchpad.net/brewtarget for bugs reports and feature requests. I would ask for a fairly clear description of what you want beyond "support fly sparging". I don't fly sparge and I don't think rocketman does either, which makes it difficult to design the feature or test...

Always seem to get cloying with wheat beers in brewtarget

I can give you the formula used for determining that, but I don't understand where it came from or what it is trying to express. rocketman doesn't frequent these forums any longer, so it takes me a bit of time to chase him down. mik
