Hello from Sheffield in the UK

@claire Sorry for hijacking you thread. Setting up a business in the UK and the US will obviously be entirely different. Have a look at this thread on HBT's UK sister forum HBF. The thread is really about the feasabilty of setting up a micro brewery but there might be some stuff in there to help...

Hello from Sheffield in the UK

I dont often leave London so only really see what's going on there with my own eyes but from HBT UK sister forum (I'm a mod there) I stongly get the impression it's happening all over the UK. Depends what you mean by "only just", I'd say it's been a good 5 years or more since all these micro...

    Yeast viablity in HB bottles

My usually step up process for commercial bottle conditioned yeasts is 2x [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] dont have a stir plat btw and just shake the jar/pop...

    Yeast viablity in HB bottles

I've propagated yeast from both commercial bottle conditioned beers and my own HB bottled beer. What I'm wondering is how long is the yeast viable in HB bottles, kept at room temp, so I can cultured it up again, If I so wish. Ive cultured up from my own bottles after about 2 months but would it...

When Should I But a New Fermenting bucket?

I stack all my buckets (of different sizes) inside one another when storing them. I imagine this might scratch them. Doesnt seem to do any harm though

When Should I But a New Fermenting bucket?

Depends how tight you are. I know of brewers on HBT's UK sister forum THBF that have had their bucket for 10 years
