    scottish ale help

Hi All- I brewed a high gravity Scottish Ale and it is tasting rather sweet to me. Granted, I have not yet carbonated because I'm wondering if I should warm it up or re-pitch. Here's the recipe: Size: 8*gal Efficiency: 75.0% Attenuation: 75.0% Original Gravity: 1.095 (1.070 -...

    Oktoberfest high FG

It's down to 1.018 after warming up for a few days. If I can drop it down a point or so more I'll be happy.

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Hi all - I'm a functional computer illiterate so bear with me. I just downloaded CBP 3.0 but I can't figure out how to make it so that 2.2 does not start when you go to the web address. I understand how to disable auto start for 2.2 but can't get 3.0 to auto start. Any ideas?

I've been using Imperial for nearly everything. This Is the Harvest strain. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to follow it!

    Oktoberfest high FG

Hi all - looking for some direction. I've done lots of fest type beers and never had this issue. I needed room in the ferm chamber so I decided to rack an Oktoberfest into a keg and lager from there. I didn't check FG as I assumed it would follow the same pattern the others had. I checked the...

Jaded Brewing Wort Chillers: A Review

I brew with electric. I had been using a 50 ft chiller and had it on the element. That didn't bother me so much, but it did bug me that I could not WP effectively and place the lid on during hop stands. I pulled the trigger on a jaded cyclone and couldn't be happier.

Jaded Brewing Wort Chillers: A Review

I do. I had been using a 50 ft chiller and it sat on the element. That didn't bother me so much, but it did bug me that I could not WP effectively and place the lid on during hop stands. I pulled the trigger on a jaded cyclone and couldn't be happier.

This beer is coming into it's own. I'll make a few mods but overall it's very solid.

    IPA recipe critique

Planned on 1056. I've been using London lll a lot but would like a more neutral yeast here. Thanks for the hop advice- I do have some galena that I could use for bittering and save the Amarillo for FO.

A[ATTACH]406930[/ATTACH There is a slight residual sweetness but no where near cloying. The bitterness is present and there is a nice floral and citrus aroma. Mouthfeel is excellent. It's coming across as more of an amber than a pale ale. Next go around I'll decrease the oats to 15%,and...

    IPA recipe critique

Hi all- I'd like to get back to a more NW/West coast IPA recipe. I's like some feedback! The bitterness / IBU is never right w beertools late additions, so I would expect it be a bit more like 65 IBU. And the FG in BTP is never right...... Expect closer to 1.012 21-A American IPA Date...

I've been doing nearly all late additions- 20 mins at the earliest. There's a local brewery, Burnside Brewing, that does a oatmeal pale ale that's really tasty

I think the bitterness will be significantly higher. Beertools is Terrible at post boil bitterness calculations.
