Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

So far, I haven't explicitly put in a fly sparging calculation because I'm not really sure what it should calculate. Normally in fly sparging, you heat up the remainder of the water to your sparge temp and just run it until your runnings are 4 Plato or whatever you decide to stop at. If anyone...

These are referring to the mash tun, not the mash itself. It is asking how much your tun weighs.

    Summer Cucumber Brew

Ah yes. I used to have a small pot of borage. It is used in some cocktails for its cucumber flavor.

What does PCB arcing look like?

Yeah, it's not complete, and it's messy anyway. Moderators: Can one of you change the title to "SOLVED: Centrifuge short circuit" please?

What does PCB arcing look like?

That was it! Working great now. Here is the relevant part of the schematic and the offending SCR What was going on was that the SCR had gone bad and its anode and cathode were somehow internally shorted, causing a short circuit from neutral to hot and blowing the fuse.

What does PCB arcing look like?

It is indeed connected across a varistor. I'll desolder it and see what happens.
  13. rocketman768

What does PCB arcing look like?

Hm. I just found an SCR whose anode and cathode have 0 resistance between them...

Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

Perfectly fine. In fact, if you want to have some more fun, put brewtarget in a Dropbox.com folder and now you can have your recipes and stuff synched over multiple computers!

What does PCB arcing look like?

No tide lines, just a crapload of iron dust coating everything. So this white stuff is oxidized solder? Is it conductive?
  16. rocketman768

What does PCB arcing look like?

It's not the motor. It still blows the fuse when the motor is disconnected from the board. The fuse is 4A @ 250V. The device works until the lid switch closes, so I have been tracing backwards from the lid switch (which closes one of a pair of relays that give power to the motor and some...

What does PCB arcing look like?

Guys, I picked up a centrifuge that had been discarded since it was blowing fuses. I have spent the last few days reverse engineering the schematic, but as I look at the under side of the PCB, I can see white marks on the surface connecting some of the solder points and traces. Is this...
