Yes, these are first year from a puny rhizome. Those pics are awesome. I can't wait until I have a huge hop garden also !

If I make an identical batch later, I feel comfortable using the refractometer only and know about where it is.

When I'm making a batch of whatever, I use both tools and record the differences. I put a little "r" or "h" like you would for exponents in my records. That way I can refer back to notes and just use the refractometer and not even worry about using conversions because of the alc content.

I thought it was odd when it started making cones a few weeks ago. It has been a real go-getter. My other hop, a Crystal, has just started to flower.

I went away for almost a week and came home to these side shoots. The only bine has stopped growing and is making cones.

I used neem oil on mine until they started making cones. Now they are on their own. I hate using chems.

Spider mites got to them so I thought I would check for roots since I had to trash them. As you can see she was making roots. I have more started. I posted this so @SkipperHops could see the result. Cheers guys.
