I can't thank you guys enough for the help! I'm glad that I could inspire some of you to take trips out this summer :) We decided on staying three days in SF, one day in Napa, driving down the coast to Santa Cruz for one day, driving to Santa Barbara for one day, and driving to San Diego for 3...

    San Diego Beer

I'm actually planning a trip to SD this summer too... going to SF and SD. Were going to San Diego solely for the beer/food and zoo. Any recommendations on what area of the city is best to stay if we'd like to walk to some of the pubs and breweries that you guys have mentioned?

    California Honeymoon- Destination Advice Needed!

Thank you guys for all of the great ideas! I think that we are going to spend 3 days in SF, go up to Sonoma or Napa for a day or two and drive down Highway 1 (and see some of the wonderful sights that you guys recommended) all the way to San Diego. Any recommendations on things to do in San...

    California Honeymoon- Destination Advice Needed!

We'll be doing San Francisco for sure. We're trying to decide if we should stay in San Francisco for 10 days or head around the rest of the state. Maybe we'll drive north or something. I've always wanted to try out Russian River, maybe we'll hit that up. Any other suggestions?

    California Honeymoon- Destination Advice Needed!

Hello All, I'm booking my honeymoon in California and we've come upon a stumbling block. We want to do San Francisco (Wine, Alcatraz, Parks, ect.) and drive down highway one in a convertible. We had initially planned on going to San Diego for a while but can't seem to find anything fun to do...

    Training Pole Material Suggestions?

They are only temporary, anyway. I will be removing them in the winter (I'm renting). I sunk them in two 1 1/2 inch pipes from HD that were 2.5 feet long. They seem fairly stable. I'm not too worried about the height (they are about 8.5 feet now). I will be tying off the ropes to the steel cable...

    Training Pole Material Suggestions?

I decided to go the route of two poles, and a length of wire in between. I think I'm going to use the poles that are used as runners for chain link fences. I'll run the rope up to the the wire and back down where I can attach them to counterweights. That way I can let the rope slack as they get...

    Training Pole Material Suggestions?

Hello all, I currently have six hop varieties in my garden It is a 20x20 area and the hops are in a row in the middle of the garden. I would like to put up six poles and run twine to my plants. I can't go any higher than 10 or 12 feet (per the city) so I want to put them about 10 feet away...

    Renting and Growing Hops

I'm glad to see that this has sparked some conversation :) I think that I'm just going to put them right into the ground and dig them up this winter when I move. If any of them die... they die. I'll just get new crowns from GLH :) BTW Fletch78, I garden and brew because I like to do it... and...

    Renting and Growing Hops

Tote's seem to be a bit on the expensive side (wedding coming up) and I see the problem with the lateral growth in the 5 gallon. Would it be too hard on the plant/me to dig them up in the fall/spring?

    Renting and Growing Hops

Hello All, I'm currently renting a house that we will be moving out of this winter. I have six crowns coming in from Great Lakes Hops this week and I was wondering what you guys suggest we plant them in. I'll be putting up two 10 foot teepees for them to grow up (I can't put anything bigger...

    Brand new 6 and 3 gallon carboys - $30, $25 Free shipping

I ordered two of these last December. I waited until mid January when I received an email saying that there was an issue with the company and that they would not be able to send them to me. They cancelled the order. It would be nice if Amazon updated you when they came back in stock... lame.

    Storing Propane Outside?

Thanks! I was a little worried after reading some of the information about houses being blown off their foundations. I will leave them covered under a tarp at the end of the driveway!

    Storing Propane Outside?

Do you think that it's a bad idea to store them up against the house with a tarp over them? They would be covered and would be on a flat surface.... not so sure if they should be up against the house though.

    Storing Propane Outside?

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for where I should store my two twenty pound propane tanks. We are renting the house and do not have a garage to place them in. I know that they should not be store inside but I am at a loss as to where to store them outside. I have a tarp...

    American IPA Hopslam Clone

Great looking recipe! I brewed this last weekend via BIAB. Due to the large grain bill (and probably my own brewing errors) I only got 50% Brewhouse efficiency. Also, I have no idea what my SG was. I dropped my hydrometer between the mash and the end of the boil.... I'm assuming that...

    Kegging Pressure Problem

Thanks for the info! I just found out that my beer regulator won't be here until Tuesday. Any idea how I could convert/safely use the welding regulator that I have sitting around to force carb and push out beer until then? I really want to share my beer on Saturday...
