New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Interesting. This looks like Sacc Trois to me by the description. Never messed with it, as I'm too paranoid with diastaticus lol.
  2. DevilsCups

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I honestly have never used it personally, and I didn't handle cold-side on the collabs we've done, so I can't comment :(

I’ve had good success with dry White Labs London Fog. It’s just kind of relatively expensive. But if it’s not too different for you, then give that a pass. The ubiquitous and polarizing S04? I’ve worked with a very well known NY NEIPA factory that fresh pitched S04 in every batch.

Hell yes lol. I’m gonna give dry London Fog another whirl soon, after I burn through my small supply of Verdant, then maybe look into AAII as stated above. Sounds interesting. Next weeks batch is going to be a NZ Pils style beer, but single hop Syrian Wolf. Curious to see how that goes.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

While I like Verdant for quite a few reasons, I do have trouble getting it to finish out high. The stuff seems too potent for its own good sometimes. Even when mashing around 158°F it often finishes around 1.011-1.012 for me. The convenience and reliability, along with the other...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Ah, makes sense! This is a pretty big shift from convention IMO. Cool to see.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Interesting. It must have changed at some point between then and now. I remember when Steve put out the homebrew scaled recipe for Jasper as well he recommended LA3 or similar strains.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Now this is some fascinating info. I've brewed a few collabs with Fidens back when I worked commercially at a tiny spot. If I remember correctly at that time when we brewed at their location they pitched fresh packs of a particular and common variety (don't want to overstep) and when we brewed...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I know this is likely a poor idea, but I'll ask in case anyone has attempted this before..... As I posted before with my setup, I ferment in a keg with a floating dip tube etc. Has anyone tried putting a traditional liquid out dip tube on the gas-in side and used CO2 to agitate dry-hops when...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

It has made me realize that even though I'm mostly brewing lower gravity, considering the modern approach, I am severely underhopping.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Now THIS is a complete clubbing over the head with hops. I love it lol.
  13. DevilsCups

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

With this setup I'm using a hop-bong. I had a ferrule welded to the keg-lid. Works great. I'll swap out the top piece for a hop-bong for dry-hopping. I've considered putting another dip-tube onto the gas-in side of the keg post, for agitation, as I have the top post to pressurize when...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I certainly could! With my brewing situation / space, the least amount of vessels to clean and prep, the better haha. I guess I should ask - is anyone getting fantastic results in one vessel without agitation? I're really enjoyed switching to using this megamouth Torpedo keg fermenter setup...
  15. DevilsCups

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I could, but I'd like to avoid dry-hopping in my serving keg if possible.
  16. DevilsCups

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I'm doing these in a keg fermenter. Trying to figure out the best way to get full extraction without agitation, as it's just not practical for me, as it would kick up all the yeast/trub. Everything else about this fermenting setup is excellent.
  17. DevilsCups

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I used to brew commercially at a tiny farm brewery up until this past February, and at that time I was chatting with a close industry pal / brewery owner we collab with. He said word on the street is that Galaxy is "back". All the big-boys were cancelling contracts up until recently. Apparently...

What do you guys think - gelatin fining in keg or gelatin fining in pressure primary at crash temp?
