Spike Conical- observations and best practices

That's an idea, I wonder if there's a risk of the stone clogging while being in contact with beer during the entire fermentation?

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

You can carbonate much quicker (24 hrs) with the carb stone than force carbonating through the manifold.

I carbonate before transferring to kegs, with the carb stone you can carbonate pretty quickly.

Do you use the carb stone with the racking arm? I used it to oxygenate and carbonate through the racking arm, but feel it would be more effective without the racking arm. I've been considering adding a butterfly valve to the sample port and oxygenating/ carbonating through that..

    Problem with new Riptide Pump

I picked up a riptide pump a few months back, went to use it on my brew day, but it leaked so bad that I couldn't use it. I contacted blichmann and they sent me a new cup, claiming that they have had some that aren't flat and don't seal. The pump still leaked after installing the new cup, I...

    Imperial flagship

Here is the procedure that I follow for the shaken not stirred starter method, I use a 1 gallon growler for a 1 litre starter. https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/index.php?topic=24447.30 https://www.experimentalbrew.com/blogs/denny/old-dognew-tricks

    Imperial flagship

Flagship is a great clean yeast, i recently used it in an ipa, dropped from 1.062 to 1.008 in 4 days at 64F. Cold crashed for 5 days at 33F and fined with gelatin, nice clear ipa at 2 weeks. I pitched two seperate 1 litre starters (shaken, not stirred) into 12 gallons of wort.

    Ssbrewtech mash tun heating

What's funny is I had an email from ssbrewtech this morning for their new RIMS system that's coming out soon. Looks like it will be quite expensive though, especially if you have to use their controller... https://www.ssbrewtech.com/pages/the-workshop?mc_cid=c0d591989e&mc_eid=130d9206ac

What kind of fermentor are you using..

I upgraded to the Spike CF15 with the temp control bundle, and I built a glycol chiller out of a 5,000 BTU window AC unit. Just got my first batch into it on Saturday, loving it so far.

    Ssbrewtech mash tun heating

This is what I do without any issues, except I batch sparge. Just preheat the mash tun, and you should be good for 60 minutes.

    Ssbrewtech mash tun heating

You're probably going to lose too much heat in your pump and lines outside of the MT that the MTSS won't be able to keep up. I bought the MTSS with the 20 gallon infussion and feel it is pretty much worthless, it may work better with the 10 gallon, but not sure. If you want to recirculate you...
