    Blichmann BrewEasy

Wow excellent, glad to hear that... yes, if you don't mind would love to hear some stats... any issues cleaning the coil itself? I really do not want to retire my blichmann gas burner... I LOVE that thing but at the same time... My kitchen will require ZERO construction if I move to...

    Blichmann BrewEasy

Thanks for all the info everyone! Seriously considering pulling the trigger on one of these... Right now I am torn between getting the gas or electric (240) version in the 20 gallon size... I'm going to be converting my downstairs basement kitchen to a dedicated brewery and this looks...

Fermentation blew lid off my big mouth bubbler

haha I wondered the exact same thing... It happened over night but I imagine it "unscrewed" itself in the process of loosening up... there was no damage to the lid threads and in fact, screwed back on just fine. It did snap the airlock in half though... quite impressive

Fermentation blew lid off my big mouth bubbler

Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback, I feel much better ... As for the Krausen on the ceiling... lol I did a 2nd look last night and it certainly was, all over the door of the closet too - I have 9 foot high ceilings in my fermentation closet and it reached it lol pretty impressive...

Fermentation blew lid off my big mouth bubbler

No doubt and lesson learned, I had it happen once before and it was still bubbling so I thought it would be fine... I doubt if I'll ever use just an air lock again after that!

Fermentation blew lid off my big mouth bubbler

Hey everyone, Just curious here - I have a very nice fermentation going on currently for my Belgian Pale Ale... I checked on it last night to see the progress and noticed some of the krausen had crept up into the air lock... Had it happen before, so I thought no big deal. I woke up this...

    Early frost

Curious to know this as well... I've got a two year old plant, just about to harvest... was going to do so this weekend but I live in Upstate NY and we have a "severe frost warning" with temps dipping into the low 30s tonight... Should I harvest today to be safe?

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Clone Attempt

If you are not tasting/smelling the dry hop addition it's suggest adding the second dry hop straight to the keg. I started doing that a few batches ago and my aroma is spot on if not slightly more intense (I prefer this myself)

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack Clone Attempt

One of the finer points of home brewing is experimentation... Do if you wanted to barrel age, go for it... I would agree with the post above regarding dry hopping though, I would brew as normal, barrel age, then follow the dry hopping schedule. And if you Keg, add the second dry hop addition to...
