    Can I get everything ready..??

If you're talking about 30 minutes or so, I'd say you're fine mixing now and then covering. I use to mix in my priming sugar, cover, and then sanitize my bottles and get them all lined up before filling. That usually took about 30 minutes. Things turned out just fine.

    Smack pack problems

Yeah then I'd have to agree with Sulli and Blizzard. Its better than nothing, and tomorrow I'd go grab another smack pack and pitch again just to be sure.

    Smack pack problems

Thats a bit long for it to do nothing. Have you brewed already?

    2009 Dechutes Jubelale

I scaled the one that was claimed to have come from the brewery. I brought it down to a 5.5 gallon batch and then tweaked the numbers to make weights a little easier. Its on page 5 of this thread.

    Smack pack problems

You could whip up a starter really quick to see if it'll get going. Homebrew Heaven should be open tomorrow if you are in a real jam. They're in Everett.

    Ruined?

Can't hurt to let it sit for a few weeks and find out. It'll carb up, and should mellow a bit. I think I used a teaspoon of spice in mine. Turned out just right.

    Grains (Tacoma Washinton)

Yeah, I google searched Tacoma Homebrew and those two places came up. If those don't work out there are several in Seattle, or the one I usually go to is in Bremerton. Olyimpic Brewing Supplies. Great guys, good prices and selection. I think they are on Wheaton Way in East Bremerton.

Top looks like it's gonna blow on primary!

Yeah, I'd say put on a blow off hose as well. EDIT: Try this.

Pitched liquid yeast w/ no starter - HELP!

You should be fine. I use to just use single smack packs and had some great beer come out of them. They tended to take a little bit to get rolling.

Fess up! How often do you check your fermentation?

I find excuses to go into the garage to look and see whats happening. I probably checked once an hour yesterday after finishing the beer. I went fishing this morning, but first thing I did right after brushing my teeth was to run in there to see how it was doing, and of course right after...

    Secondary Dry Hopping Pale Ale

I think you're better off using a separate bottling bucket after your dry hop. I'd be worried about mixing up the settled yeast, or the priming sugar getting stuck in the hops. The bottling bucket will help separate your beer from those things and you can mix your priming sugar more evenly so...

Glass carboys for beer primary fermentation question

Haha, that higher OG isn't a problem if you like higher alcohol. You'll be fine. The amount of beer you lose in the blow off hose is minimal. When i use my carboy's as primaries I use the larger hoses like Hammy. They work great, but I have had them get stuck with a couple wayward hop cones...

    one yeast packet or two?

I don't think you'd need to use both. One should be fine. The other might be just in case the first isn't viable.

    2009 Dechutes Jubelale

I brewed this up a few weeks ago. I'm drinking it now, and actually am brewing another batch tomorrow. My recipe turned out tasting more like a Cascadian Dark Ale. Really hoppy without the roasted backbone that I tasted in this years Jubel. I've boosted the roasted barley and the cara pils on my...

    London ESB 1968

You'll be fine. Like mobilecabinworks said those are ideal conditions. I've used that yeast on a 1.067 OG beer and it came out just fine. I also fermented it around 62.

Glass carboys for beer primary fermentation question

You can put a hose on the airlock. I use a 1" hose on carboys. I rigged this one up when my IPA suddenly had a freak ferment and filled 2 gallons of the bucket with krausen and started coming out the airlock. Only thing I'd worry about in smaller diameter hose is something plugging it.

    mash tun too big?

I use a 70 quart Igloo Max Cold Cube for my MLT. It works great. I use a copper manifold and a typical 5 gallon batch of moderate strength fills about 1/3 of the tun. I tend to preheat the mash tun with water 10 degrees above strike and let it sit for 10 minutes. Usually after that its right at...

    The [Horribly Unpopular] Soccer Thread

Yeah I'm curious to see where they make changes. I feel like we need more speed in the wings. Zakuani was missed this season. Defense tends to make stupid mistakes too which was the cause for a lot of the goals against us this year. I'm also very concerned with the goalies. I haven't been very...

    The [Horribly Unpopular] Soccer Thread

Should've had a few goals already. That was an amazing block of Jeff Parke's shot. Its too bad we've had to sub two players already in the first 20 minutes. On the plus side, my Jubelale clone turned out great and I'm on my third mug of the keg!
