Texas Chest Freezer - NW Houston, TX

I think $40 is fair... I need it gone asap since we're about to move and I don't want to store it between houses. I'll include the analog Johnson temp controller with it. My logo vinyl will not be included. It will easily hold 6 cornies and a CO2 bottle on the hump. If you are better at...

    StillDragon DIY Controller Kit

Man was I way off on both counts... that's what I get for trying to sneak onto HBT between meetings at the office. I obviously wasn't paying attention.

    StillDragon DIY Controller Kit

The only one I saw linked there that has high enough current (amp) capacity to directly switch is the amazon one... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003A3W41C/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 The down side to this is that you will always have a hot line going to each element. As long as everything...

Controller Build - has anyone done this???

I have a hand drawn one in a single color, incorrect symbols, and incoherent text :) To be honest, I doubt it will be of value to anyone but me and may cause more confusion than anything. The boil circuit will look like the following thread because I'm gutting my still dragon controller to put...

Controller Build - has anyone done this???

If you are only using it for boil control then i'd use a ssvr setup instead of the PID. Still dragon sells a reasonably priced kit or you can look at their assembly directions (in their forum) and build your own for less $. Personally, i'm doing both. PID is for my HLT, ssvr is for my BK.

    Facelift for my control panel

Cool. What size is your box? Looks like a good size for my layout as well.

    Facelift for my control panel

What are you doing for heat sinks on your SSRs? Even if I buy the extruded aluminum stock and do all the drilling/tapping myself I'm looking at $65 or so. My system will have 2X 40A SSRs (running 23A) and a 15A SSR for the RIMS tube (running ~10A). Right now I'm just using a still dragon...

    Facelift for my control panel

Have you got a parts list for this build? It would be awesome if I could build such a comprehensive panel for $300. I can then upgrade to higher end stuff (PIDs and SSRs in particular) if things fail over time.

    Small brew kettle

I'm going to start doing 2-2.5 gallon batches on my stove top as well for the stronger beers I don't want/need 5 gallons of (Barley wine and Triples). I personally plan to BIAB and just use a hand held digital thermometer. If you want one installed in the pot just buy a weldless from one of...

    Brew stand/cart material

Is that an 18" or 24"? How do you like the size? Seems to fit your pots pretty well. I had planned to go with wood but unless I use recycled pallets (been on my mind lately after seeing some nice builds in the DIY forum) I don't know that I could save any money over one of these wire shelves.

Exhaust hood idea: blue tarp & pvc. Thoughts?

That looks quite good. I was expecting some horrid monstrosity. Well done Sir.

I dumped my last two batches for the same reason... it's depressing.
