    Finally building my brew rig

I fired up the burner for the first time with the water filter below it, it defiantly gets too hot under there for plastic. Back to the drawing board. I am pretty impressed with how fast the bg14 brings water up to temp compared to my turkey fryer, and it's Soo much quieter too.

    Finally building my brew rig

I want to put my water filter here, but am worried the burner might be too hot to have plastic filter that close. Anybody else put the filter under the burner? My plan is to have everything inside the frame for storage reasons

Using heating element for mash tun

I already have the extra keg I would need, that's why I'm thinking of trying to keep the mash at temp with a heating element, I can also get the heating element for free. I have 1 March pump as well. I basically have everything I need, I've been brewing all grain for a long time, just finally...

Using heating element for mash tun

I'm building a 2 burner brewstand and will either be using a cooler or a keg for the MLT, my question is, can I use a 110 v heating element to keep the mash at temperature after heating strike water on a burner. I know I can't put the element right in the MLT, will a rims tube work for this? If...

    Forgot to add hops

Nope didn't add yeast, had just cooled it and noticed my hops on the table. Classic case of doing to many things at once

    Forgot to add hops

So the added water to the same level as another beer I made around the same O. G and will do a 60 minute boil and hope for the best. Note to self: when making beer, only make beer.

    Propane fittings and valves

So it's a single tier brew rig, gonna have 2 burners, basically I want to have one connection to the tank and then be able to control each burner individually. Nothing fancy, just a simple straight forward setup

    Propane fittings and valves

I'm at the point in my brew rig build where I need to run the tubing for propane, but have no idea where to start, whst do I need and where can I get it. I'm in Canada so if anyone know a Canadian supplier that would be great, if not, no worries I'll get it from U.S.

Saying goodbye to my friend tomorrow.

Well it's done, I just had a vet come to the house and do it, he has not been well the last few days, I thought it would be terrible since it was the first time I've had to make the call, but there was an odd sense of relief and peace in the whole thing. It was so quick and peaceful. Thanks...

Saying goodbye to my friend tomorrow.

I am writing this tonight with great sadness, tomorrow I will have to say goodbye to my friend. This is one of the hardest things I have had to do in my life, I've been very fortunate in life, meaning I have not had to say good bye to many people or pets yet. But this pup holds a special place...

Fermenting 2 different beers at the same time

Hi everyone, I've been wondering about this for a while, I built a fermentation chamber than can hold 2 carboys and am wondering if I was to brew a 10 gallon batch, or brew 2 beers on the same day, or even one on a Friday, and another on the Saturday, could I ferment both at the same time in...
