Give up on stuck lager ferment?

Thanx Yoop. It's just a little on the sweet side. Prolly not half bad once its aged, carbed and cold. I'm gonna keg it and try to forget about it for the winter. Any ideas where the smoke went?

Give up on stuck lager ferment?

Sorry for yet another "Stuck Ferment/First Lager" thread highjacking, but, I have a similar stuck lager primary right now. It's been holding at 1.022 for 2 wks, 60*F. OG was 1.055, 6# Munich, 4# Rauch, 1# Vienna 12 oz CaraMunich mashed @ 154-155*F/90mins OG : 1.055 I initially began...

Dang that's a lot! It's $7- for a 12 oz pour in Portland! The place was PACKED! I only got in cuz my homeboy is the souschef. Once again, I am honored!

    What are you drinking now?

Just had the super lucky opportunity to imbibe the ultra-rare Cantillon Zwanze, on International Zwanze Day in Portland, Oregon! This gem gets tapped at noon world-wide. Part of a 35 barrel global distribution celebration in which all kegs are tapped at exactly noon o' clock. And I'm here to...

What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

Nord- I think you'll like LOSS. It's kind of in the realm of Asunder, Corrupted, Ahab. Oh man! Ahab is definately something you need in your arsenal. Their album, Call of the Wretched Sea is absolutely untouchable. Also, check out Fen- Winterspirit. Wonderful brewing music for this season.

An amaaaaaazingly grimmmm album, Despond, from an amazingly grim band called Loss. Just had the rare opportunity to check em out live last week. So good. Definately NOT happy tunes. Well, for me it is! I love me some crushing doom metal! Any Doomsters out there heard of Loss?

    lacto/pedio infection

+1 Yessiree. That's why I love this forum. So much wisdom & experience. Thanx HBT! You've taught me to brew some excellent beer, and provide me with endless hours of education and humor.

    You still buy Beer

+1! Embarrassed to say, but I've never really thought about that. Maybe I've been lucky. Definately a valid point! And, like you, I'm also enjoying my own brew. While the cost effectiveness is obvious, I eat & drink out often, which offers its own rainbow of tastes. But I'm one who works and...

    Cherry Beer

Dudes. Try this one. I've made it 5 times this summer. Smoked Cherry Ale. Everybody freaks out when they drink it. Even SWMBO's friends who DONT drink beer, won't shut up about it. Just sayin'. Here's what I do: 8lbs Marris Otter 3lbs Cherrywood Smoked Malt 1oz EKG/Fuggles/Willamette @60 mins...

    Pickle Recipe?

    Lacto infection turn out fine?

Been there. Kinda funny. Just tonight I took a peek into my HopDamnber and saw something funny, kinda lacto looking. It's closing on 2 wks, w/ a dry hop 5? days ago @ 70+F. I've seen this before w/wlp001, I used US05 for this Damnber. The 001 batch was great, I packaged, crashed, all was well...

    Lacto infection turn out fine?

Happened to me once or twice. I simply checked my gravity, if it's stable for a couple days, even if not, but close to terminal, I rack to keg, cold crash, push out the suspended yeast, and carb. Turned out fine. RDWHAHB. If you're bottling, just make sure everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is...

    Homebrew in Portland, Or. parks

Any idea of the consequences? Like, how big is the fine? I'm thinking, if it's fair, I'd just pay the fine & serve outta kegs. It's not like we're gonna have another wedding party there next year or anything... :) really? No root beer, even?!! Crazy. What about lemonade & tea dispensing?

    Homebrew in Portland, Or. parks

I know?! It's stupid! Especially how "green" & "progressive" this town is trying to be... They'd rather we drop bottles and caps all over the grass, create useless waste & trash, and keep paying into the commercial monsters! Contradictory at best. Their rationale is that "kegs create an...

    Homebrew in Portland, Or. parks

Both great ideas, guys. Thanx! I think imma put a few kegs in a friends truck and fill/refill growlers. At least until it's obviously cool to bust out a keg later in the evening. I can easily draw up some cool labels, as we've already been making and designing everything. The wifey and I are...

what to do with excessive bottles

Dang. They pay us to recycle in Portland, Oregon. It's great cuz there's always money laying around, provided there's a bar code on the label. Just ask the HomeBums lurking around! Sad tho, how resistant some counties and states are to recycling/sustainability/thinking about our kids in the next...
