    Boulevard Nutcracker Ale Clone Guidance

OK, its been a while since I've commented on this recipe. It turned out really well! I don't think I would change anything in the recipe, except that I might add a very small amount of holiday spices to the brew, or possibly add spices to the fermenter. I usually add a dash of nutmeg and...

    Boulevard Nutcracker Ale Clone Guidance

Will do. I did scale back the brown sugar to just 8 oz. FWIW.

    Boulevard Nutcracker Ale Clone Guidance

I brewed this over the weekend, I used a recipe that was closer to the second I posted, rather than the first. I will let you know in a couple weeks how it turned out. It might be cutting it kind of close to get a batch correct before christmas, so I've got my fingers crossed for success on the...

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

    14,135 + 5 (me) + 5 (taught a non HBT friend) = 14,145

Could use some help selecting paint for freezer

Not so much with the DYNOMITE quote, but by not making the connection between the 'Ol Dirty Plastered', and the avatar.

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

I'm at work right now or I'd take a picture, but I just painted the door seals black too and they look fine, just make sure and do it while the door is open or it will glue shut.

Could use some help selecting paint for freezer

Just wanted to chime in with my experience. I had an old ugly white refrigerator and spray painted it with 2 cans of 'Appliance Paint' from home depot. It honestly looks like a brand new refrigerator! You can check it out on This Thread. +1 on doing the painting outside, everything in...

    Boulevard Nutcracker Ale Clone Guidance

I saw that BYO had a clone of it in their Dec 08 issue, but it didn't really seem completely in-line with what Boulevard had on their website. Can anybody offer any help? Would my original recipe be OK, or should I move closer to what BYO had? Thanks! Amount Item Type % or IBU 8 lbs 8.0...

    Boulevard Nutcracker Ale Clone Guidance

Hello, I'm looking to brew something similar to Boulevard's Nutcracker Ale. I don't have a lot of experience designing recipes, and I was intimidated to try this because of the number of different ingredients, so any feedback that you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Nutcracker...

    Dry run, configuration and tuning?

I've never altered anything in BeerSmith for my equipment, and my temps and volumes have always come out fine. As for your timing, BeerSmith has a Brew Sheet that you can print, I think under the 'View' menu, that will list all the steps that need to happen and at what time, I've never used...

    Drinking some Apfelwein tonight...

And I don't eat nachos to get fat, but sometimes, $hit happens.

Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

I've made this twice now with amazing results. I went ahead and used an ounce of coriander and an ounce of sweet orange peel, just because that is the size of the package they both came in, and it came out perfect. For me, you cannot overdo those flavors in this beer.

My ferm chamber is now a kegerator, what to do?

Not going to happen. Spent way too much getting the kegerator finished.

My ferm chamber is now a kegerator, what to do?

I recently converted my garage fridge to a kegerator, yes! But the garage fridge was what I used previously for controlling my fermentation temps. :( So here's my dilemma. I've got 2 or 3 kegs that I want to cool down to an acceptable drinking range (40-45) or possibly lower, but there is...

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

I guess you're right, in construction, we would say "substantially complete". Funny you mention that though, because I am still in the process of deciding how to display what's on tap. I am leaning towards chalkboard, but don't want to do the spray-on type. I want the pub chalkboard look.

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

I submersed my entire setup (QD's included) in a sink full of water, cranked the regulator up to 30 psi, and didn't have any bubbles, so I am not really concerned with any leakage. As always, proper care & cleaning of the QDs will go a long way.

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

Here's a pic since I just read through my description and my pre-coffee ramblings might be a little confusing......

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

I used three 1/4" tees, and (5) 1/4" hose barbs, go to the air compressor section though, not the plumbing section. Husky sells tees for much cheaper, and they are configured with one male end and two female ends. Stick the male end of two of the tees into each female end of the third tee...

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

No I can't. But this was intentional. I know I will be switching to long tap handles eventually, and to put the faucets low enough so that the freezer could clear the long tap handles made me bend down so low it was completely uncomfortable. The fridge door is reversible, so a piece of...

Finally finished my 4 tap kegerator!

I bought this old refrigerator on craigslist a few months ago and it was white, and filthy! I cleaned it all up finally, and used 2 cans of Black Appliance paint to get it looking like new again, then added 4 Perlicks to the front, and now finally have my own kegerator. I also built...
