    I winged it today: Galaxy Pale Ale

    Well Im a noob brewing an IPA. But thats only because I like higher alcohol beer and the local stores really have no selection except IPA. Also when I went to a local brew shop and bought my kit he basically recommended an IPA. Prolly because it was 60 dollars lol. I do feel it was a quality kit...

    My first brew...

    I was just curious if anyone will tell me why I shouldnt worry about tannins? So tomorrow will be 2 weeks in Primary. I wanna bottle it so bad but Im gonna try to wait. Fermenting has been pretty stable at 68-66 degrees hopefully this is optimum temperature. I dont have a way to control it...

    Newbie brewer!

    My first thoughts are temp related. At 70-75 degrees which seems slightly high allowed the yeast to ferment more vigorously but possibly fizzled out quickly. At 60-65 it seems a little cool slowing down the fermentation and causing it to not be as vigorous. Maybe a few more experienced brewers...

    overshot my volume, broke my hydrometer..

    Good luck with the all grain brewing. Im gonna do a few extract brews before investing in the extra equipment. I look forward to it though!

    Straining Wort into Primary Fermentation Bucket

    On my first batch which is fermenting now, I just used the auto siphon with a spray wort aerator no filtering at all. I might put some mesh on the end of my siphon though when I transfer to bottling bucket. Any thoughts on if this would harm the brew?
