    "It can't happen to me!"

My past few batches have been way under carbed. I use the same sugar boil/swirly hose technique, and the usual 4.5-5 oz of sugar, so I dunno what is going on lately. Never had this problem before.

    Strike over beer...

I worked with a guy whose son works at the bud plant in newark. They used to have the same setup, with coolers around the plant. He told me when they took away the coolers it was written into their contracts that the workers would instead get a free case a month to make up for it.

    Daaaas Boot Challenge!!!!!!!

I am on quite a few interweb forums (jeeps, broncos, machine tools, woodworking tools, etc.) and they all seem to have threads that break down to bacon at one time or another. I think we should replace the current monetary standard with bacon, because Everyone loves the bacon. My girl...

    Simplest (?) Keggle Cutting Jig

Just to offer up a super simple way of doing this, I used the HF 3" air cutoff tool, let the blade guard ride against the keg handle rim, and the tool handle (by the air inlet) sit on the keg tap connector. Made a nice, circular cut just under the size of a 12" lid. I then cleaned it up with a...

rubber coated pony keg for HLT?

cool, good to hear. I am probably getting it for nothing, so if it doesn't work I will only be out the cost of the heating element.

rubber coated pony keg for HLT?

I am about to make the jump to AG, and have a line on a miller rubber coated 7.5 gal. keg for a HLT. I am wondering if this is big enough for 5 gal. batches? I plan to use a 1500-2000w 120v electric element to heat it. I am figuring the rubber would take care of the insulation, and 7.5 gallons...

    Bayou Classic SQ-14 question/problem

I just got my sq14 and it came with the spring, but without the 2 screws for the damper. In case anyone else has this problem, the screws are metric thread. I also saw the threads for the hose fitting in the burner were pretty terrible, and not having NPT taps on hand to clean them up, I used...

Soldering copper w/o a propane torch.

because copper is such a good conductor of heat, the 30w iron would be useless. Possibly a 150-200w iron, but at that point a cheap torch is less $$. If you ever buy a house more than 30-40 yrs old, the torch will come in handy to replace all the failed shutoff valves on your water pipes. I have...

    bench capper for heineken bottles?

If you have a drillpress, you can get a piece off ebay to use it to cap. I have one, and it is great for the import bottles with the shorter lip, and just crank the table up and down to switch bottle size. i use some becks/heiney bombers, and the hand capper won't work on them at all.

    Karankawa Pale Ale

just brewed the extract w/steep kit last night. I can usually gauge how tasty a brew is by how much my girl hates the smell, and she was really complaining last night... I have some extra cluster I am thinking of dry hopping with. I am just worried about all the talk of catty-ness...

    what is your occupation

One more hijack.... the new ICS4000 system from peterson has it all over sso. I have put in around 10 ics systems and they are great to work with/ and great from the organist standpoint. I did the organ at ocean grove NJ with ICS, and if it can work there, it will work anywhere.

    what is your occupation

Well she doesn't have to, we are much closer... :) And the dirtiest I have ever felt was working on the Radio City Music Hall organ when I had to get into the organ chamber off of the chorus boy's dressing room. Boy did they have a lot to say about our organ. :ban: Hey, its a living...

    what is your occupation

I have done a few ssl (sso) jobs. Not a big fan of their stuff. What is strange is I used to mix live sound, so I knew of the legendary ssl studio gear, so when I started working with organs, I naturally thought they were the best. However a few jobs were enough to swear off their pipe organ...

    what is your occupation

I own a pipe organ service company. tuning, service, restoration. Basically i am in the old filthy closet no one knows about in your church fixing technology that hasn't really evolved since the turn of the century, manufactured by companies that are long since out of business. when i put it...
