No, I left the light hooked up and branched the hot wire 3 ways; one for the STC, 1 for cooling, and 1 for heating. For now I just removed the light bulb so that it won't run constantly, I havent found the type of paneling I want to cover the door foam yet so theres nothing to turn the switch on...
It actually wasn't bad at all, all the wiring you need is already under that cover and it just happened to be the right size (with some cutting of course) to fit the stc. The only pain, like I said was getting all the wiring to fit in there neatly. Probably would have been easier had I used...
The hydrometer must have been wedged in the wine thief for it to not float, otherwise it was broken and leaked liquid inside. I always take my readings from a graduated cylinder so that I can spin the hydrometer.

Hey all, just finished building my MLT out of my Coleman extreme cooler ( I think it's the 52 quart one). I went with a copper manifold and decided to drill holes in the bottom side instead of cutting slots. I drilled 1/16" holes every 1/2" (my smallest drill bit). The copper is 1/2" spaced 1"...

I wired the exact same fridge up direct a few weeks ago with the stc-1000... Replaced the factory thermostat completely and put the stc in its place. I have my temp probe taped to my carboy that is lagering right now and when I cold crashed from room temp down down to 33°f the compressor ran for...
I wonder how much of a PITA it would be to get out of the bottle afterwards? And just imagine the looks you would get after your buddy poured one of your homebrew's into a glass to see that thing left in the bottle, lol. In all seriousness though, its a good idea.
Hey everybody, I got my STC-1000's in the mail today and couldn't wait to hook one up. I have the costco Danby fridge that will eventually be turned into my dual tap kegerator, but for now I figured I could set it up to finish off fermenting my blonde lager so that my better half will stop...

Hey everybody, I've been lurking on the site for quite a long time now, learning all I can about my newest hobby. Felt it was time to sign up myself and maybe give a little back to the site that's helped me so much as of now. So far I have 5 completed brews, one back in my younger days that...
