Applying panneling on sides of keezer???

Seems like a bad idea the more i think about it. I was thinking of instead of adhearing the strips directly to the freezer, framing out a whole wood framed box with a fan (maybe something a little more substantial than a computer fan) mounted on the bottom blowing air up.

Applying panneling on sides of keezer???

I'm dialing in my keezer build & want to apply wood flooring to the sides of the freezer using liquid nails (or open to other suggestions). Obviously not covering the vents or drains. Is there any problem with heat or ventilation doing this? I'm specifically looking at this freezer...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

I was planning on attaching the collar to the freezer not the lid because of the weight of the granite & coffin box. Do you think that's wise?

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

Hey Quaffer, Is there any problem with cutting out a hole in the lid of this freezer? I'm planning a build mounting an Irish coffin box on top of the freezer. Also, the lid handle....do you think that would come off easily? I'm planning on tiling the top in granite. Thanks.

    500 ml yeast starter?

Too late, it's foaming over & I'm not brewing until tomorrow. I'm not using a smack pack, I'm using washed yeast from a previous batch. Should I pour it into a larger container?

    500 ml yeast starter?

no & no. I just went to the calculator & i guess i need 90 ml of slurry. That's about what i had, but i didn't see where the size of the starter is in the calculator. I guess the yeast is good, because after 2 hours it's bubbling out of the flask. Should i just place foil loosly on top & let...

    500 ml yeast starter?

This is my first try using washed yeast from a previous 3068 batch. I bought a 500 ml starter kit from morebeer.com. just made a starter w/ .5C DME & 500ml H2O & yeast nutrient: OG 1.040. I've been reading a larger starter is recommended. Will I be OK using this 500ml for now? I used the 500...

    Questions about building a Draft(box)tower???

I will be attaching a piece of 1x12 as a base because the coffin is a little unsteady & i dont want to mount to the wall. 1x6 as a hinged lid, both stained with a mahogony stain. And I will be glueing cherry wood flooring to the exterior shell.

    Questions about building a Draft(box)tower???

OK, another question: I'm mounting the shanks through a peice of 1 X 12 (3/4" thickness). what length shanks do i need? My draft box has a depth of 3.5". I was looking for a 90 degree 3/16" nipple so the beer line bend in my box is not too sharp. I'm having trouble finding the 90 degree nipple...

Which Perlick to buy & mount height?

I'm going to buy 4 taps soon. From what i read Perlicks seem to be what everyone suggests. Which one should I get? Whats the differance? Should i get a creamer? I think I'll have a stout on tap maybe 1/2 the time but don't plan on nitrogen any time soon, or ever. I found perlicks for $23.99...

    Questions about building a Draft(box)tower???

As far as computer fan size, I'll be framing my coffin box out of 2X4 lumber. so, I'll have 3.5" width to mount a fan. I'd like to mount one that moves plenty of air to best cool the taps. What would be a large computer fan? Is there like a CFM rating on them? What is the "discharge" diameter of...

    Questions about building a Draft(box)tower???

I don't have any pics, I'll try to get some. What i have is a standard keggerator wit a 2"ish hole for the old tap in the top. I have to go from that hole bend around the side of my bar into the coffin box. I'd say 2' max run exposed. I've seen people use shop vac hose. I was thinking something...

    Questions about building a Draft(box)tower???

Nice looking setup, KC Brewer! And nice looking racks of ribs in your profile pic. I have a BBQ problem as well. BBQ & Beer go hand in hand, don't they? I had a thought. What if i mount the fan in the Coffin & blow warm air into the keggerator, thus forcing cold ait back up to the box? Would...

    Questions about building a Draft(box)tower???

I'm planning on building a "draftbox" which sits on top of may bar, directly above my keggerator. Some obsticles which i face are: 1. I can't (don't want to/wife won't let me)drill through the bartop (granite). 2. It needs to be cooled. 3. I'm running 4, 3/16" beer lines to 4 taps in the...

Will Haier HBCN05FVS fit 3 (or 4) corney kegs?

It's actually not a wine cooler. That's just how that link described it. I just randomly found & copied that link. here is another link. It fits 150 cans. That seems like a lot...

Will Haier HBCN05FVS fit 3 (or 4) corney kegs?

Has anyone seen or used this for a keggerator? I stumbled upon it & looks like it may work. http://www.dealtime.com/xPO-Haier-HBCN05FVS

    Efficiency 30.87%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

43 is better than 30. How did you do that conversion? Is it a Beersmith option?

    Efficiency 30.87%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that's the problem. I'll switch to the braid & try in a couple weeks. I tried my 30% beer yesterday after 2 days kegged & the flavor is great, but it tasted like I filled a beer glass 1/4 with beer, then topped it off with water! Should i switch to a smaller cooler (like a 48 qt)?
