Wheat beer with Wyeast 1318 London Ale III

Looking to make a Wheat beer of sorts with some real fruit (likely orange, willing to change that) I have some Wyeast 1318 I saved from a boddington clone I made. Looking for thoughts on how this would work with a nice easy drinking wheat beer for the summer. Thanks!:mug:

Cut back on Beer because the belly is too big?

The alledged increase in estrogen from the hops in beer does not make it any easier to shed those pounds. At least it is only showing in your gut. Disclaimer: I do not support or deny that imbibing hops increase Estrogen, but some of the research is convincing.

    Jockey Box Keg Setup ?

I was searching the forum, I think I found my answer, but I want to make sure before I put my first 5 gallon batch on the line. I have a kegerator fridge conversion kit. When I sold my previous home, I left them the fridge (but not the kit...so they had a fridge with a hole). This was for a...

    Distracted brewing

Thanks Duboman, that or cough up money for a new purse lol. Think infection is likely having pitched the flame out hops at 150 degrees? Will those hops add any aroma or flavor at such a low temp?

    Distracted brewing

Well, I did my first yeast starter today. Really excited because I think my previous poor tasting brews were yeast related. I learned a valuble lesson, that is you need everyone out of your hair while you brew. Trying to brew while watching a 7 month old is a bad idea. (my wife was home as...

Just found this, https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f64/boddingtons-bitter-21131/ Looks like it may be a wee bit above my skill level!?

Is this Boddington's pub ale recipe legit?

I usually take information I find on the internet as the word of god. But before I take this to my LHBS to assemble the ingredients....think it looks like something that would resemble boddingtons less the awesome nitro goodness? Recipe Specifications -------------------------- Batch...

    Green beer vs Brewery

I sanitize with Comet, and use old drywall buckets for fermentors. (yes I clean them with Comet first). Kidding Kidding, Sanitizing is the thing I probably focus most on. I use Iodophor. Dang, the whiskey barrely stout I was really excited about, and I know I did a crap job aerating that wort...

    Green beer vs Brewery

You guys are like little homebrew yoda's. It is incredible that you were able to hone in and identify my issue so fast. Many Many thanks. What do you recommend for temperature control and yeast pitching? What is an acceptable varience? I have been impatient and pitched yeast at say 80 instead...

    Green beer vs Brewery

Good questions, I dont know where to start. I guess by "green" I mean bottled beers whose flavor has not evolved enough to agree with my pallet, usually takes 4-6 months for my crappy beer. One example is a brewer's best Oktoberfest partial mash kit. When i pitched the dry yeast packet it came...

    Green beer vs Brewery

I feel like i should clarify. I am not debating breweries have better equipment and brewers. But, how do they bypass the "green" period?

    Green beer vs Brewery

I started homebrewing probably 4 years ago. With all of that experience, I am probably worse than you would think. I go through brewing spurts for various reasons, but want to make it a more consistant hobby. I brewed my first all grain this past weekend and am optimistic about the results...

    IPA to pale ale conversion?

Hello, My brother is in some sort of club and recieves Brooklyn Brew Shop kits monthly. I usually brew extract and grain kits, though am looking to start homebrewing more and with more grain. Long story short, he is not a big fan of IPA's and gave me his kit...

    Brewrigs for dummies

Hello all, I am still very new to homebrew with only 3 batches under my belt, and my first grain venture this past sunday. Though while I am no way ready for such a set up, I keep seeing these amazing brewrigs with 3 kegs or coolers, burners and pumps all within a brilliant maze of...
