    Turbid Mashing a NEIPA?

Wow, thank you. I really wasn't fully convinced until i saw these posts. I'm definitely going to try some of these recipes. For the turbid mash, i was thinking not bringing the temp past 152 aside form a mash out, but I can see how this would make a too much starch.

    Turbid Mashing a NEIPA?

Hi, Thinking about some of my favorite cans to wait in line for at $5 each got me wondering what exactly are they doing to make this mud like appearance. Sure, flaked oats/wheat etc and the hop oils lend to this. But this stuff is murky. Could a turbid mash be utilized to gain this...

    Pretzel flavoring

I've seen quite a few posts inquiring about pretzel flavoring. Usually the op suggest adding pretzels to the mash. I haven't seen much feedback regarding this method and am hesitant to try it on my own. I'm not in an rush to brew a pretzel beer, but it's on my radar. Because pretzels are...

    Peanut Butter Stout

The Brewery (beer factory) where I was employed part time contract brewed Purple Monkey Dishwasher(choco pb stout). Like most beers brewed there they used an extract that came in a big blue jug from some manufacturer in China(exaggeration) this was added post fermentation. I've read that it...

Brewing salts. Did I find my water report?

Thanks, I need to update my address to reflect Windsor Locks not West Hartford anymore. I think I will start with RO or distilled and build from there. Now to learn how much of what to put in.

Brewing salts. Did I find my water report?

So after screwing up a batch i was really optimistic about because I completely failed on my water chemistry(added WAY too much gypsom ), I decided to try to learn more about it. It seems like as soon as you get a handle on something and your beer improves, there is something else you need to...

    Julius BIAB Clone

So had a nother taste this A.M. Not as bad, but still a bitterness that haunts you. I am thinking this could be caused by using too much gypsum and calcium chloride.

    Julius BIAB Clone

HAHAHAHAHA. I can do that easily. I actually prefer the hop flavor and aroma to the bitterness any day. thanks for the advice. Will do. Funny you say that, this beard club that used to come into the brewery I worked in for open houses (basically all you can drink for $10) would insist on...

    Julius BIAB Clone

just took a sip of a diff citra IPA. then mine. The bitterness gets picked up like toward the middle or back of your mouth and slowly sneaks up. The smell I'm getting is sweet. Candy almost. Thoughts? is it just time? Did I overdue my IBU's?

So I just Kegged after cold crashing. Purged the keg minimized oxygen. I did have a screwup where my siphon hose had a hook up, so i made a small fountain which was quickly covered in beer. Next time i will be more mindful (new hose). I pulled a flat taste off. Wow, tasted like bitter...
