    Cleveland Trip

Transportation is definitely the problem. We're doing this on a shoestring budget so places within walking distance would be great. We will definitely hit up Bier Market. We get in early in the morning, anything fun to do in the Tower City area before the bars open?

    Cleveland Trip

Thanks I'll check it out, it might be a good place to eat lunch or dinner.

    Cleveland Trip

I got some free Megabus tickets a few weeks ago that enabled my wife and I to go to Cleveland for the day this Friday. The main reason for the trip is to go to Great Lakes Brewery but I was wondering if there were any other places that we shouldn't miss while we are in town.

    Pin Lock Cornies

I've got 2 pin lock cornies I need to get rid of. They are in great shape, hold pressure. O rings were replaced not too long ago and have been kept lubed since. I've also got gas and beer disconnects for both plus an extra beer disconnect for a BeirMuncher beer gun. I've also got a custom made...

    Haier HNSE05 Kegerator

Thanks for the pics. I've got a chance for one for $50 and I can't decide if I want to take a chance on bending the freezer. I don't think my space will accommodate a large extension on the front although that would probably be the better option since it definitely won't kill the fridge if...

    Kegerator Fridge - Haier HNSE05

Did you ever convert this fridge? I'm looking at the same one and wondering if it will fit 2 cornys.

    Haier HNSE05 Kegerator

Do you have any pictures of this? I'm curious how you attached the wood to the fridge.

    Haier HNSE05 Kegerator

Do you think there would be room for 2 cornys without extending the front? I don't mind messing with the freezer, but don't want to waste my money if 2 kegs won't fit.

Watch out Chicago because here I come!

Depends on what you're looking for, brewery or brewpub. As far as breweries there are lots of good ones around. Half Acre is my favorite place, they do tours on Saturdays. The tour will be full already but if you just show up and walk in they don't care. It's one of the best tours I've been...

    Road Trip brewery visits

I just got back from my road trip. I made it to Cooperstown, Ommegang, Madison brewing in Vermont, Troegs and Appalachian. All places were great, thanks for all the help.

    Chicago & Philly Brewpubs???

I recently spent a month in Philly and tried a lot of cheese steaks. If you want to see Pat's and Geno's and take some pics fine, but I wouldn't recommend waiting in the lines to eat there. I ate at them both and it's nothing special. Go to Jim's, my favorite was actually an Amish place in...

    Using a broken hydrometer

Because the gravity reading is based on how heavy the entire hydrometer is vs how dense your beer is. You've lost some weight from the broken glass that is no longer on the hydrometer so it will float higher giving you an inaccurate reading. I would test it in water first and see how far off...

    Road Trip brewery visits

I've never been to South Bend, but if you're this close you might as well come up to Munster, IN and go to Three Floyds. And if you going to come to Munster you might as well come to Chicago where there are lots of great places to keep you occupied.

    Road Trip brewery visits

That sounds like my kind of tour. There's only one problem again, time. We are scheduled to do the Troeg's Tour Saturday afternoon. There isn't enough time to make it to both in the same day. So given the choice between these two, is there a winner?

    Road Trip brewery visits

Wow, 9 in 4 days is impressive. We could probably do more but we're coming through on a Sunday and most places do their tours Fri/Sat. I think I'm going to need to come back for a few weeks, I had no idea there were so many great breweries in the area.

    Road Trip brewery visits

I am passing through Albany, I'll definitely try and get to Brown's. We were going to go to Great Lakes but there is a time issue. If we do the Great Lakes tour then we would get to Ommegang at 5AM and have to wait 7 hours for it to open. I think we're going to skip Great Lakes this time...

    Road Trip brewery visits

Should I go to Appalachian Brewing Co. instead of Troegs? I looked up Bubes, looks like a cool place. Can I just go drink there or do I have to go eat dinner?

    Road Trip brewery visits

I had the pleasure of going to both Yards and Victory earlier this year, both were awesome. I forgot Magic Hat was in this area, love #9. Sucks it's 2.5 hours from where I'm staying. Endless samples you say????
