    Bay Area Thread

Hey all. If anyone wants to share a bottle or two (at SARA or wherever) or do an in-person trade during beer week, let me know. I'll bring along some Hill Farmstead bottles, fresh Heady and others.

Sounds about right. Old BA Everett is a yes.

Did Clover really pass? Sorry to hear, if so. All this CD #5 talk prompted me to fire open my last one. Still quite a treat...

    DDT 01/19/15

All the talk of CD #5 in the HF thread prompted me to fire open my last one. Kept cool since 2012 and still tasting quite nice.

I don't care for Motueka but riwaka single hop is so good. I'd personally like to see Galaxy single hop pale, Double Nelson and Double Riwaka.

    Cantillon Master Glassware List

I know. It's not how it's done almost anywhere over there (although, you do see a fair amount of lambic served with a Cantillon stem). Seems like 80% tumblers. The 3F stems probably break too easily in restaurant use, cost too much, etc. More of a recommendation for personal use...

    Cantillon Master Glassware List

Armand recommends a use for each: Tumbler = for young (1st year of bottling or so) gueuze to allow certain undesirable aromas to escape/breathe (sulfur, etc). 3F stem = anything older than 1-2 years (gueuze, krieks, Armand'4, OGV, etc) to keep the precious aroma trapped.

My bottles have been gone for years. A friend has had bottles from that release in his cellar since purchase and shared them (also shared all 3 BA F&T from that release which again were doing better than I would have expected).

If memory serves, Jim was barrel aged James (Pinot Noir barrel, 7.5%). Jimmy was barrel aged SS#2 (imperial James, 10%). Had both side by side a few weeks ago and they're doing better than I would have expected (mostly Jimmy). Nice caramel thing going on now... edit - what ShawDeuce said...

Anyone ever check a full growler in their luggage?

I've done it a few times without incident. Once was a 2L growler brought back from Russian River to NH. Another was a few growlers checked from Boston to Sweden. Both had plane changes, bags tossed around, etc., and everything made it fine. No inspection notices in either (both looked...

Opened my last Art (batch 2) a few months ago and it was still fantastic. B2 is certainly still worth trading for, in my opinion (assuming it was stored properly, etc).

    Belgium Travel Thread

I flew into Charleroi from Rome recently and it was fine. Nice airport, easy to navigate. Grabbed our checked bags and hopped on the shuttle to Bruxelles-Midi. Smooth and easy.

Has anyone visited Cantillon this month?

50N was 15 euro while there at the end of July. Mix of suitcases and 12 bottle shippers works well for me.
