    Megapot 1.2 vs. Blichman G2 (2017 Version)

Buyer beware! I took advantage of a similar sale by Northern Brewer and purchased a megapot 10 gallon. I am on my second exchange do to pitting defects, dents, and very deep dark scratches inside the kettle. Apparently it is a known issue as a search for "megapot defect " in google reveals. I...

    Minifridge door foam

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I went with a thin piece of fiberglass and sealed the edges with silicone. However my 6.5 gallon big mouth bubbler still needs a little nudge and squeeze to be able to fit in. Im currently fermenting in it and closing the door with a little help from one of...

    Thirsty and eager noob

So after 2 months of my original post, lots of reading and learning, and shelling out a few bucks on the initial equipment, i made my first batch today (extract of course!:-p ) honey amber ale from MW. I focused on providing the best conditions for the yeast and the fermentation. So i went with...

    Minifridge door foam

I need some opinions. After hacking at my mini's door, i have exposed the insulation foam. Can this foam stay exposed? Or does it have to be covered? What have others done in order to cover it up? I tried duct tape but it came unglued after a few hours. I need some ideas here.

    Stupid Simple Stir Plate. ~$12

My attempt turned out pretty cool. Midway through the build i found a bigger box from a gun cleaning kit which was perfect since i will be doing 5l starters.

    Brewjacket feedback

Im also looking at the brewjacket. Specifically the cooling only device as i have no need for heating. There are some stuff to keep in mind with this devices, the temp sensor sits in the outside of the fermentor, you may be able to do a thermowell but try to keep it as far away from the cooling...

    Thirsty and eager noob

Well after looking at a few options im rather dissapointed that there isnt a sensible solution to cooling a fermentation for someone thats got time and space constraints. Most swamp coolers i read about have issues with temp swings, ive looked at cooling jackets which requires water pumps, water...

Midea 3.5 cu ft freezer and 5 cu ft.

So in my search for a fermentation cooling solution i came across the midea 3.5 cu ft freezer online. I went to hhgreg with my big mouth bubbler 6.5g and it did not fit☹️ The inside of the freezer had a platform or step up shelf in order to accomodate the condensor. However in the 5...

    Stupid Simple Stir Plate. ~$12

I was wondering if cutting the top off like in the picture is a must. Would it work without cutting the circle? Or would i need stronger magnets (those have a pull of 4.83lbs only) if i wanted to skip that step?
