    Hello from Massachusetts!!

Right now there's an American brown ale in the fermenter having a party. That's my first batch! This Friday I'm going in for round 2 with a buddy, and we'll add a couple different pale ales to our fermentation room. Staying simple right now getting started and planning an IPA, and a stout for...

    What are you reading?

Just finished "the wolf in winter" which was a solid entertaining read until the last 30 pages. I really wish the guy who loaned it to me told me the ending was abysmal. Ha. Just cracked open "guns, germs, and steel." It's been recommended a few times, and I'm just now undertaking it.

    Gravity Readings & Sanitation

Thanks! That's about the time table I was planning on following. Everything seems fine, so I'll just give it a couple weeks and test, and then test it again shortly after to confirm its readiness for bottling.

    Gravity Readings & Sanitation

My first batch of American Brown Ale is sitting in the fermenter, and the yeast are doing a great job. So far, so good. My question is about Gravity readings from this point forward. I've been reading through the forum and a common troubleshooting option appears to be to take a gravity reading...

    How did you find us?

I was searching for local home brew clubs, and any time I searched for anything "homebrew" related, good old Google shot the forum to the top of the results. I'm glad it did, and I'm happy to be here.
