I think I came out with a question that hasn’t already been asked on this forum! I didn’t think it was possible. As expensive as lactose is, if I added Camden and potassium sorbate after fermentation to inhibit further yeast production, what’s the downside to adding brown sugar instead of lactose?

The dump valve makes cleaning easier where I attach a spray ball to the 1.5” port on top and let it drain out the bottom back into the same bucket. When I’m done, it just drains itself. With the flex, with no dump valve, I need to disconnect everything (glycol line, temp probe, ect…) and then...

Although you are responding to a 6 year old thread, I’ll go ahead and add that the simplest way, for me, is cans of OJ concentrate after fermentation.

My standard recipe is a base blonde ale. After fermentation, I DO add Camden and potassium sorbate to inhibit further yeast production a couple days before kegging. Then add a bottle of simply lemonade into the keg before racking the beer. Good luck.

I have a cf10 and flex+‘s. I have often said I think I wish I went for the cf5 instead of the flex + due to the dump valve. So much easier. fwiw, I add a 90* elbow to the flex+ which makes tilting and dumping more accurate into a bucket.
