    Electric Brewing Simplified

I don't think i'd agree its "very very" minimal, brewing 13 gallons with 3000W will always take almost twice as long as it would with a 5500W element. For mash->boiling(+60F) your looking at 41 minutes instead of 22.

    Fermentation chamber fail safe

As others said, just use the Sainsmart relays. They are rated for like 100,000 cycles. That is literally your fridge being turned on and off every 30 minutes for over 6 years for a relay PCB that costs like $5-6 for TWO relays. Honestly your fridge/freezer compressor or circuitry is more...

    Brewpi sainsmart 2 channel relay

4.8V should be enough to make them work.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Your Fridge sensor should be between your chronicle and the heat pad if thats the case, its the closest thing you have to what it should be measuring, which is the air inside your chamber that whose temperature is whats effecting your beer temperature. Fridge implies cooling but its the same...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I dont know for sure, but i dont think you can only work with 1 sensor. The BrewPi software uses the fridge sensor for its PID loop to keep the beer at temperature.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Is there a reason your not using 2 probes? BrewPi really needs Beer + Fridge temp to be accurate. Also what temp control option are you choosing? Beer Profile, Beer Constant, Fridge constant?

Storing extra wine for top up...

Interesting, well its been over a week i wonder if its been too long. May just take e a taste tomorrow and see what it tastes like and maybe store some in an extra wine bottle or something.

Storing extra wine for top up...

Even if campden is put in? I thought that helped prevent oxidization, and basically blanketed the wine like a CO2 blanket does for beer?

CellarWarden, a temperature and humidity monitor for the Raspberry Pi

It does, but if im remembering correctly(he has it now) the LCD on the web app still toggles between controller and current temps. Minor issue but it bugged me ;) But he got the alarms working so its not like hes going to stare at the web gui more than a minute every month or two if that.

Storing extra wine for top up...

So i have a question, i have about 7 gallons of plum wine across two 3G carboys and a 1G jug. So i put the remaining about 1/2 gallon into another gallon jug with some campden. I was planning on using it to top up any of the other containers as i rack them. Is this a bad idea? Should i...

Ferm Chamber heater 150w ceramic bulb

I use the 200W Lasko Personal heater with its built in fan in my tiny like mayhbe 10cuft stand up freezer and it works great. That said i dont really feel it puts out 200W of heat...the air that comes out is colder than my car heater on max hot. But you definitely want a fan.

CellarWarden, a temperature and humidity monitor for the Raspberry Pi

Just set this up for a buddy who is setting up a wine cellar, works great. Would be nice if you could turn off the controller part entirely though, he has some fancy AC unit that controls his temp and humidity. So this is purely for logging and alarms.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Profiles work differently than Constants. You can think of Profiles as the Host PC sending continuous "Constant" updates to the Arduino behind the scenes. Which is why you flatlined when the power went out and it resumed when you turned it back on. Its entirely possible maybe it was...

    Element Cable Question.

Not sure if its too late, but the first one is not SJOOW therefore it is not water proof. So thats no go. The 2nd one is what you want. Its about the same price you'd pay to make two 12' cables.

    HERMS recirculation

Like many others here i just run full open, i open it just a bit to start and let it run for a minute or two and then slowly open it up to full and leave it there. I think how open you can run without getting stuck really is a matter of grist but also your false bottom.

How Long do YOU Ferment in primary?

Pretty much every ale beer gets 2 weeks @ 65, ramping to 68F over the 2nd week. Then the last 2 days i cold crash it to 30, gelatin it, then keg it. Lagers usually go 3-4 weeks, same for really big Imperials or a RIS for example.
