    ergonomics-friendly brewing setup?

Hmm I'd have to see that one.. But if you've done it, who am I to argue

    Two Hearted IPA

#triggered? I never said anything about cancelling you, or that your opinion was invalid, or that I even agreed that Bell's is the best beer. I was offering an opposing opinion that Bells is a very good beer and explained my reasons, which are just as valid as yours. I also was attempting to...

    Two Hearted IPA

A juice bomb is a common term for the modern interpretation of IPA - low bitterness, tropical fruit, floral, citrus, sometimes even sweet. Usually they are served in obnoxiously psychedelic cans that all look the same after awhile of browsing through aisle after aisle of "hazy juicy DIPA with...

    Two Hearted IPA

Let me be the first to disagree with you. First off it is a west coast IPA and it's been around awhile, it's not a NEIPA so you can expect the hops to be a little more "old school" than your modern juice bomb fad, and have plenty of bitterness. I also get routinely frustrated with the...

    ergonomics-friendly brewing setup?

That's actually not true. The end of the hose in the receiving vessel needs to be lower than the bottom of the sending vessel for a siphon to work. The height of the peak of the hose has no effect on the siphon because the same amount of energy is needed for the liquid to go up to the top of...

    ergonomics-friendly brewing setup?

Can you elevate your stove by a foot or two? Like put it on a low table or box? That way you never have to move the pot full, and you can siphon without needing to elevate it any more

    ergonomics-friendly brewing setup?

Why are you moving a hot pot at all? Most folks chill their hot wort in the pot without moving it, and then siphon or pump the beer to the fermenter once it's cool.

How can I transport carbonated homebrew?

A beer growler will hold carbonation just fine. I think your water bottle must have been leaking CO2 or you filled it with half foam. It's usually best to use a growler filling attachment from your beer faucet and fill the growler from the bottom to minimizing foaming. Don't try to fill a...

    Schwarzbier dark malt percentage?

I think weyerman actually describes it as exactly that somewhere on their website

    Schwarzbier dark malt percentage?

No its not completely neutral. You can taste that SOMETHING is going on. But it certainly is much less than using carafa special

    Schwarzbier dark malt percentage?

One of the best schwartzbiers I've had was a czech pils recipe with a dash of Munich and sinamar for color. I'm a huge fan of sinamar for schwartzbier

    Can’t hit my final gravity

You take that back! My thermapen has a back light, a rotating display, is 100% waterproof, and I haven't changed the battery in 4 years. It's not about the top speed, its about the ride 😎

Spike CF5 heat jacket wire failure

Spike just got back to me and replaced it, no questions asked. Always great customer service, and no need to identify a fix. Thanks all!

    What does biscuit mean?

I'm using USA terms here Biscuit malt is not sweet like a cookie but it does contain some maillard reactions and a light toasted dough quality similar to what you might see on a golden brown USA biscuit. Based on the lack of similarity to a European biscuit and a close similarity to a USA...

    Sticky mouthfeel?

Carbonic acid doesn't usually come across like that either. It does sound like you're extremely sensitive to certain flavors though. Carbonic acid is usually a slightly metallic tang to my pallet, and it will fade with time.

Keg elevation during fully closed-loop transfer between kegs

I'm pretty sure the beer and gas pressure will just equilibrate between the two kegs on level ground and you won't get a transfer. Just elevate the kegmenter so that the bottom is level with the top of the receiving keg. Better yet, use CO2 to just push from your kegmenter and vent the excess...

    Sticky mouthfeel?

Hmm apparently my stomach reacts differently to strong tea lol.. ok just making sure there wasn't something unsafe going on
  19. TheMadKing

    Sticky mouthfeel?

Whoa.. burning your stomach?! I've NEVER had a beer cause that. I have heard of some cleaning solutions causing that. Is there any chance you missed rinsing some pbw or blc out of something? Do you have a way to check the pH of the beer?

    Sticky mouthfeel?

Too much acid malt would make a distinctive clean lacto sour taste and wouldn't be astringent like sucking on a tea bag so I doubt that's the issue.
