70Qt Coleman Xtreme with CPVC drilled Manifold

@Stealthcruiser Thanks! @unviewtiful The 9" returns provide more area to let sweet wort drain. I don't tip the mash tun, the design of the manifold leaves maybe 2 oz of liquid in the cooler. This has been a very efficient design.

    Star San Soak - Passivation?

I passivated my keg with a gallon of StarSan water. It sat upright for half an hour, then I laid it on its side, turning slightly every 20 minutes or so, until I had covered the entire inside. No rust, cleaned it nicely.

    STC-1000 vs Johnson Temp Control

I got by DIY kit for the STC-1000+ from Brews by Smith. They also have a pre-assembled version. I like the fact that the STC can heat and cool to keep temps where you need them. The options for the pre-built STC that he has are: STC-1000+ STC-1000+ with tri-color led to show when it is...

    Smelly fermentation?

I had a Hefeweizen fermenting in the house. One day we walked in and were greeted by a horrendous stench. Immediately, we searched the house to see what one of out three dogs had done. As soon as I got close to the fermenter, I knew the source of the stench. This ended up in a ringing...
