    Attn: Construction Gurus

I would figure at least 60 dollars per sqft. Rember you are adding foundation, roof, doors and windows which tend to be some of the bigger cost of plain square footage(no plumbing cabinets etc) also you will have to finish the existing structure, new floor coverings back to the next room...

    Irish Red Volumes of C02

the style guidelines call for 2.1 to 2.6 volumes which is between 3.2 and 4.5 ozs of corn sugar in a 5 gal batch
  5. bigdug

    hola

yep more sugar = more carbonation According to brewsmith you have about 3.1 volumes of CO2. The kit was probably set up for 2.5 to 2.8 volumes.

    Ever grow your own Tobacco?

I am east of Raleigh. I think it takes the good old black soil of the coastal plain (black jack they call it) to see more consistency in the large size that is a little further east of here, but it does seem to like the heavy clay soil around here as well. I have not worked in it since my teen...

    Ever grow your own Tobacco?

I don't know about the variety you have but it is all around you here in NC. I have litterally been up to my armpits in it. Flue cured is grown here with the leaves picked progressively as they ripen (turn light green to pale yellow). Then hung in a bulk barn to dry slowly over several days in...

    recycling yeast

I am thinking about starting to wash yeast or at least repitching some batches on an existing yeast cake. I have always just dumped everything from the boil kettle into the fermenter including the pellet hop sludge. For those of you that harvest/ repitch is it better to use a hop bag and filter...

    what's up...

Yep that's us. The AB pale ale kit is the bomb I have to make it about every other batch (I have converted it to a AG version) to keep SWMBO happy.
  11. bigdug

    hola

okay, I thought you might have added the priming sugar when you moved to the bottling bucket.

    hola

+1 to wyazz's post. I have used American Brewmasters kits for some time and they are great with better instructions than most kits. If you transfered to your bottling bucket 4 days prior to bottling how did you add your priming sugar?

Who likes using a bottle tree?

+ 100 I mix up some star-san, about 1.5 gals, on bottling day and dunk the parts of the tree in it, use about a pint in the vinarator, put a pint in a spray bottle and save a gallon for use on brewing day.
