How many times should I re-pitch the same yeast?

No magic number. You can keep using it until it is no longer meeting your expectations or you are not happy with the results.

noob kegerator issue...foaming on initial pour

Ideally, preventing the lines and faucets from becoming warmer than the beer in the kegs would likely solve your issue, but getting there will probably be easier said than done. As previously mentioned, running a fan to circulate air may help, especially if you can get cold air to flow up into...

noob kegerator issue...foaming on initial pour

Okay, well that's a good sign. I think the higher carbonation on the Ultra side is the culprit for why you would need to pour a lot more beer before it settles down. After the first couple ounces, I'm sure it's cooled things down a bit, but not enough to overcome the carb. You need to slow down...

noob kegerator issue...foaming on initial pour

Definitely sounds like a line/faucet temp issue. What happens if you just pour a few ounces in the glass, swig it down, and then attempt a full pour? It should only take 2-3 ounces of beer flowing to cool the line and faucet.

Perlick Reverse Creamer vs. Stout Faucet

I had three 575SS faucets and a couple of them had issues with leaking. No matter how I adjusted the fit of the ball to the O-ring I could not get them to reliably seal. Lost an entire keg of a dubbel one night due to a leaking faucet, which really pissed me off, as one can imagine. After that...

Perlick Reverse Creamer vs. Stout Faucet

Standard stout faucets can also be used to pour CO2 beers if the restrictor plate is removed.

Perlick Reverse Creamer vs. Stout Faucet

Yes. It's a completely different design than a normal CO2 faucet. Edit to add... Due to the design of all stout faucets, they do require some extra effort to keep them working well. The restrictor plate in the nozzle has 5 or six very small holes that the beer is pushed thru. After a pour...

My faucet keeps getting sticky. Have I set it up wrong or is this a common problem?

Pretty common with the "el cheapo" rear sealing faucets the come standard on most kegerators. Replace it with a Perlick, which is front sealing and eliminates the issue.

Perlick Reverse Creamer vs. Stout Faucet

The 690ss will not work for nitro pours if you're wanting the full effect (I.e., cascading effect and dense foam). You will need a proper stout faucet that employs a restrictor plate in the nozzle...

Icemaker Problem - Any Refrigerator Repair Techs in the House?

Thanks for the link. If I'd known there was a diode I'd have replaced it along with everything else I replaced during this exercise. Oh well, now I know. Next time the fridge stops making ice, and I know there will be a next time, at least I won't be stumped by a diode.

Icemaker Problem - Any Refrigerator Repair Techs in the House?

Update: Issue resolved!!! I don't use ice myself, so I was fine letting this go for 2+ years. The women in the family, however, not so much, and having finally reached their limit with making ice the old fashioned way gave me an ultimatum... either fix the motherf#$%#*g ice maker or buy a new...

Help, DIY Float tube has no beer coming out.

Assuming not frozen, this is most likely your issue. Temporarily increase the pressure to 30 PSI to knock the foam down and try a pour.

    Floating (SS) keg pickups ?

Oh, gotcha. As a guess, I'd say it's around Ø1.75". I'll measure it this evening and update this post. Update: The ball diameter is indeed 1.75".

    Floating (SS) keg pickups ?

Not off hand, but I can measure when I get home this evening. I assume you're talking about the OD of the post insert that replaces the original dip tube, correct? I can say that they work just fine in both Cornelius and Firestone kegs.

    Floating (SS) keg pickups ?

These Top Draw pickup tubes from Williams Brewing seem to work pretty well and are more economical. https://www.williamsbrewing.com/Top-Draw-Beer-Pick-Up-Tube-P4643.aspx I put one on all 8x of my taps.

Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra - length of line?

I'm running 24 inches on 4 taps with Perlick 650 flow control faucets @ 10-12 PSI, as well as my stout faucet @ 30 PSI with beer gas. Was running 10 feet prior to about 4 months back when I decided to try drastically shorter lines. No problems so far. Have been running 10' lines in my garage...

does anyone want to go in on White Labs Funky Cider Yeast?

Yeah, I realize there is no such thing as too much Brett for some, but that's not me. Don't get me wrong, I like me some Brett, but it should be subtle, not overpowering. If it tastes like it was dry hopped with road apples, it's gone too far. :tank:

does anyone want to go in on White Labs Funky Cider Yeast?

My plan was to let it go for a month, but I grabbed a sample at 15 days and decided that it already had the Brett profile I was looking to get. Too much more and it would have been beyond my level of Brett-tolerance, so I want ahead and kegged it and quickly got it chilled.

does anyone want to go in on White Labs Funky Cider Yeast?

Nice yeast. Kegged after 15 days. Brett is very noticeable without being over-powering.

Split Lager Batch: One at 47, One at 67

Yeah, very weird. Check the gravity on both to see where they're at.
