    Beginner Brewere Recipe Query

Adding at the 60th minute means at the beginning of the one hour boil. In brewing we count down to zero. Magnum will be very bitter at that point.

    Seltzer; looking for info

I guess that might depend upon the yeast. My kit said to move it when SG was below 1.004. Mine was .994 when I transferred.

    Seltzer; looking for info

Yes. I moved it to a secondary. First one I made I left it on the yeast (EC-1118) and did not like the final result.

    Seltzer; looking for info

The seltzer kits I have made from Williams Brewing have all finished in less than 10 days. Around 6 or 7 as I recall. Yeast nutrient is the key. if you are fermenting in a carboy with minimal head space I can see how you might have gotten the overflow. Pitching dry is common. What yeast...

    Low gravity

A simple question. Are you measuring with a refractometer or a hydrometer?

    Condensed Milk

Not correct. Condensed milk can be sweetened or not. Evaporated milk is a powder form.

    1.010 OG in fermenter?

Probably was a fairly low OG with that mash temperature so it could be down to 1.010 at this point. Let it ride. Not much can be done at this point.

Refractometer readings for glucose and fructose solutions

Refractometers don’t measure sweetness. How are you making your assumptions?

    sloooooooooooowwwwwww bottle carbonating?

How are you figuring your priming sugar amounts? And I agree that it does look like an infection. I have never had a “cap” like that form in my bottles.

    Stuck fermentation prevention

Did you clean the Clawhammer before using?

First Brew - <update> no more bubbling :/

Patience is good to have when brewing. Remember that 1.010 is not the “goal”. It is just an estimate. The hydrometer readings will tell when the beer is done. Wait a few more days and take another reading.

B Brite vs Star San for bottling...which to use?

B-Brite is a cleaner. Starsan is sanitizer. If your bottles are clean already just use Starsan. If they need to be cleaned, use B-Brite first then rinse with Starsan.

    Coopers DIY Kit Issues ?

Nine days is a bit early to bottle IMHO but maybe with extract it is OK. We’re you sure fermentation was done? Did you take a hydrometer reading and subsequent ones to be sure it was finished?
