    Hello from sunny san diego

The page loads fine. but after I fill out the forms and enter the validation image... I get an error message saying "ERROR: Image Validation does not match." I have tried on three different computers, 2 pc's and one mac. Very frustrating. Each time I actually try to come up with a good...

    Hello from sunny san diego

I went to CHUG's page and their registration page is broken. I wrote him about it but never got a response. I think I would enjoy CHUG much more than QUAFF.

    Hello from sunny san diego

Sweet, I need to check it out. Hopefully they're not too elitist. I hate that, Charlie would be bummed at the attitudes some of those guys have.

    Hello from sunny san diego

Look, half the time you guys abbreviate and put things like bk or ic or what-have-you, and that is pretty much the same thing. You could just, not be a dick, and not have to say you are being one.

    ton of trub; whirlpool?

Yep, definitely should of waited a half hour. Dang it! Yeah my carboy is half full of trub-cold break and now a lot of it is floating. It's definitely interesting to look at, but after a six hour brew session, it's a little heartbreaking to think that it might be ruined. :( Also, a quick...

    ton of trub; whirlpool?

I have a ridiculous amount of trub in my fermenter. I heard of doing a whirlpool before I transfer from my bk. I did, but it did nothing. Thinking logically about it... should I have put an extension on the inlet to reach to the middle? I am a little confused.

    Pyrrhic Victory ESB

So for this to be all grain, 10 lbs of 2 row would do the trick right? I brewed something similar not to long ago thinking it would be an ipa, turns out, it was more like an esb. haha, well... great minds I guess.

    Finding Bulk Hops....to save $$$$

None of those seem to help his(or my) situation. Everywhere is so dang expensive. How long do rhizomes take to grow hops?

    *unwanted* sweetness in beer

Golddiggie, this is my first all grain. Followed the rubbermaid mlt conversion thread on here. No software yet, that would be nice but I'm pretty broke indefinitely so I am trying to get neccessary equipment first to see what I can get away with. Yankeehill, that sounds like solid advice, I'm...

    *unwanted* sweetness in beer

Hi all, I just brewed a slightly high gravity brew, I would classify it as a dark ipa. I used a total of 3.0oz hops total, including dry hopping .5oz at primary AND secondary. However the brew is still a bit sweet. So... Is there some sort of guideline ratio of btu to S.G. ratio for...

It's Barleywine time again and I have some yeast questions

So, are you saying that you just cool the wort all the way down in the kettle and add it straight to the used primary carboy? My huge problem is not being able to cool the wort fast enough.
