I got tired of washing and filling bottles so now if someone wants beer to take home or I need some to go I fill from the keg to 1/2 gal growlers. That's if they bring them back clean. The growler holds about 5 1/2 beers.

Just leave it under the beer is best practice and don't store with water. When you reuse your yeast make beers with lightly hopped first then on to highly hopped at the last reuse. Also make a starter if more than a week old is how I do it.

An Iodine sanitizer will work, or I think they make a foamless version of Star San. I just use regular Star San, dump it all out and hook up the keg to fermentation gas like Doug293cz said.
