    sour mash & botulism?

If it tastes even remotely sour, the pH is WAY below what botulinum can work in, so you should be fine. You would need to consume the toxin to become ill. And yes, botulism cases are extremely rare, and, in the US, are always traceable back to poor home canning procedure. Botulinum are not...

    sour mash & botulism?

Botulinum does not produce gas when it produces botulinum toxin. That said, if there is even a slight amount of alcohol present, botulinum can't do it's thing. If the pH is low 4.5ish, botulinum can't do it's thing. If you've boiled the beer for an hour the only thing left is the chance of...

I'm looking for some HBC 366 hops

I can't get their shopping cart to take my address. It keeps saying they can't ship to me. I'm in the US and I've entered my address as best I can. I really wish I could find somewhere to get some of this hop. It sounds amazing. Edit: They emailed me and said it would be $25 shipping plus the...

    2014 Hop rhizome Swap

I have a couple years old columbus and a couple years old nugget I'd like to trade for either some cascades or large cascade rhizomes. Need to move fast on this one for me. The columbus and nuggets just don't grow well for me. The cascade did, so I want to just focus on that.

    saison taste vs. belgian taste

I can't see that being the case. Doesn't taste like that at all from what I remember. Maybe I need to try another one, but I am like OP, I've had amazing saisons, and I've had some really lousy ones. Tank 7 is one of the best. Saison Dupont is also fantastic.

    Homemade PBW, surfactant ideas?

I know this thread is a little old, but I was reading it because I am thinking about building my own PBW but without using Oxyclean free. Mainly because I don't like the foaming. I'm thinking of getting sodium percarbonate from this site...

    Saison Recipe

Depends on if you like the hoppy saisons or if you really like the yeast character. If you are into the hoppy ones, you can use your oz of EKG at flameout and add some Saaz for flavor and bittering. If you like the yeast to really sing, just do a bittering addition with the saaz for the IBU's...

    Atlanta Area Group Buy

It looks like tax is being calculated on the entire grain buy, but not the individual bags or orders. How will this be handled? Also, what is the timeframe for finalizing and placing the order?
