Secondary & Dry Hopping Best Practices

Well, that makes me feel like I'm starting to "get it." Thx. Did not know that but it's refreshing to hear since the Pliny clone calls for a whole lot more hops before bottling.

Secondary & Dry Hopping Best Practices

Greetings. I have read countless threads on this site and a lot of folks advocate for skipping the secondary and just leaving it in the primary for a longer time and call it a day. Totally get that and respect it but this time I'm not sure I can get away with that given the need to dry hop and...

One gallon batch started to ferment again?

Wow. I have brewed about a dozen of their batches and had just noticed yesterday that my "Summer Wheat" was starting to ferment (again). Today would be 3 weeks since going in the 1 gal fermenter and it had looked very clear and still for the past week. I don't have activity in the airlock...

How do you bottle your 1-gallon batches?

Can't believe I never considered this. Perfect when you want to have somebody(ies) over and run through approx 8 to 9 beers without all of the bottling. :drunk: Golf clap on the mic drop, btw.

How do you bottle your 1-gallon batches?

I've made close to a dozen of their 1 Gal batches and love them. I bottle right out of the primary after a quick cold crash. I simply drop a fizz drop into each bottle (2 in a bomber) and let 'er rip. Comes out perfectly IMHO.

Northern Brewer Plinian legacy - your experiences ?

Yeah, I got tired of trying to filter it through the funnel and screen and ended up with a ton of post boil hop sludge. My carboy had about a solid 3+ inches of settled junk in it before fermentation took off. I'm expecting my total yield (finished product) to be quite low after starting as...

    Scaling Down Recipes

My humble two cents. Using liquid yeast and vials seems pretty expensive for small 1 Gal batches. I do a ton of those and either use ranched yeast or dry yeast to keep my costs low. Oh yeah, and I usually pitch about half a packet and have never had an issue with that amount. :)

    zombie dust clone muddy...help

This thread talks about this. Probably just yeast in suspension. I've seen this with my DIPAs. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/muddy-fermentation-177467/

Check list before takeoff: Plinian Legacy

I couldn't agree more. 1 1/4" ID blowoff tube in the carboy and sh!t's getting rowdy. :)

Really? Wow, I had no idea on that one. You just saved me like 37 cents on my next batch. SWEET!! I love saving money. :ban:
