    Tri clamps?

I’m currently starting a 20 gallon kettle build where I want to install a TC port for my element but I have cam locks for all of my hoses. I haven’t had an issue with any of the cam locks, I think they’re great and easy to clean and something about them that’s so satisfying when you lock them in.

Easy to use, turnkey, compact, semi-automated 10 gallon batch electric all grain brewing system?

I built my own system based off the the BrewEasy and it's great. I can crank out a batch in about 4 hours, sometimes a bit less if I'm good with cleaning during the brew day.

    Anchor Steam

I wish I had tried it earlier than I did but I had my first one last March. The best way I would describe it, is that it's like California's Yuengling. Definitely a beer I could see having while watching the game in the fall/winter time. It's a great beer that you don't need to think much...

    Black is Beautiful Stout

I wanted to report back that mine kegged and carbonated. This one knocks it out of the park! It's everything I want in an Imperial Stout! It's perfectly roasty, beautiful chocolate notes, clean bitterness, with a silky mouthfeel. It's my absolute favorite stout I've made so far. I definitely...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

What blows my mind so far reading through all this, is very little to no dry hops. I would imagine a 2-3oz of Chinook in the dry hop will up the flavor and aroma.

    Black is Beautiful Stout

Checked gravity tonight and mine is stuck at 1.030. Surprisingly it doesn’t taste sweet. Currently it’s at 7%abv and I can tell that it needs the 1.9%abv as intended. Tastes great on the hydrometer sample. I threw another packet of US-05 in (I knew I should have used two packets at pitch but...

    How to use a CFC

So for my system, I got a 400micron stainless hop spider. I have having issues with my CFC getting clogged when making NEIPA's. If it's 1-3oz in a batch, it would handle the hop matter and trub fine however a lot would make it's way into my fermenter. Since I've had the hop spider, it's been...

    Black is Beautiful Stout

Mine is on day 12 of fermentation and it looks like it stopped fermenting after day 5. I'm going to keg it tonight, burst carb so I can check it out this weekend. I'm super excited to start drinking it! It'll be chilly this weekend and for me, that's perfect stout weather. I'm sure with the...

    Black is Beautiful Stout

I just brewed mine over the weekend, I did the homebrew version with all the speciality grains. The first runnings wort tasted amazing so I'm excited to see how this beer changes through fermentation. I used 1oz of Columbus for bittering then 2oz of Cascade at 20min and 10, as per the recipe...

    Black is Beautiful Stout

I can't wait to brew this. After I saw the review by Basic Homebrewing, it further encouraged me to brew it. I thought it was a lot of specialty grains but it looks like it really creates one hell of a stout!

    Best NEIPA hop combos

One of my personal favorites so far have been Citra, Centennial, Mosiac, Amarillo and Idaho 7 hot side and Citra, Mosiac, Amarillo and Idaho 7 for the dry hop. Nice, clean, fruity with just a bit of dank.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Brewed an 8.4% New England on Saturday, first time using a total of 9oz of hops (2oz each of Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo, Idaho 7 and 1 oz of Centennial) in the whirlpool and will be doing 6-7oz in the dry hop (same hop combo). Using Imperial's Juice again and forgot how active it can be. Woke up...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I've been toying around with the thought of breaking up my WP additions throughout the temp ranges...IE. Toss together the hops I want to use in the WP (for 7oz total), 2oz at flame out, 2oz at 180f and 3oz at 160f to see if that changes anything.

That's awesome! I can't wait to try it out. I've been a fan of taplist.io and looking forward to using this one.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I was gonna say, from my experiences of tasting the first pint (usually there's a lot of yeast sediment on the first pour for my NEIPA's) and the flavor/aroma is greatly subdued till that all is poured from the keg...then it gets significantly better. I think for my next batch I'll hop after...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I thought this would be interesting to people here. This is my first time keg hopping. Long story short, this is a smash with Thrall Family Pale malt and only 1.5oz of Sabro throughout the boil (.5oz at 60, .5 at 20 and .5 at flameout). It wasn’t too exciting of a beer so I decided to keg hop...

Newbie, concerned too much bittering hops

What I would do if I were you, would be familiarize yourself with some sort of brewing calculator - I like web.brewfather.app because it's very user friendly and I can go from my laptop to my cell if I need to input info/makes changes, create recipe, etc. It was original brewing dogma that...

    NEIPA with pumpkin

When I make my annual pumpkin ale, I use 60oz of canned pumpkin in the mash and you do get some great color from it, however pumpkin's flavor is closer to squash. It's the spices that associate pumpkin flavor with. However...if you're system recirculates in anyway, consider using rice hulls...

Newbie, concerned too much bittering hops

Magnum is a great smooth bittering hop however 2oz does seem like a lot for an amber ale. Do you use any brewing software of any sort like BrewFather or Beersmith or Brewer's Friend? That'll help you figure out the IBU's as you're putting together a recipe. Doing a couple kits at first isn't...
