    First batch; Block Party Amber.

Looks great to me! I know when I read the recipe for Blockbuster Amber, it's made to be a crown pleaser and nothing too hoppy or bitter. If that's how it turned out, consider that you hit the mark. Any off flavors? If not, great job on your first brew!

    Black is Beautiful Stout

Just wanted to post an update. I brewed an english pale ale as a starter with Imperial's A09 Pub yeast, kegged that beer the same day I brewed the 2nd batch of BIB and dumped that wort right on top of the fresh yeast cake. Overshot my OG by about 5 gravity points. 1.088 OG with a 1.025 FG for...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I'll have to check mine. I remember getting some during their flash sale and I used it last summer...beer came out great and it smelled awesome. I did was to say that I got some Citra from Hopsteiner and holy ****, what a difference in aroma and flavor.

    Specific Hops and Biotransformation

Biotransformation is not just a myth but it actually is a real thing and it does happen. Wine makers have been using this for years and studied in beer at the very least for the last 10 years. They also knew about Hop Creep in 1905...and we just rediscovered it recently...

    Pilsner with ale yeast, or...

You can actually use SafLager 34/70 and get great results....and the temp range on the packet also specifies it can perform in the 60's. I've done it many times with great results.

I Would Like To Practice With My All Grain Setup. Cheapest Way?

When I completed the build of my system, I spent a morning figuring out the boil off rate and my losses so that I could properly enter them into BrewFather and brew consistantly. From there you could make a simple cascade pale ale with just 2 row and US-05.

My first keezer - Cost and build steps.

So far so good! Edit: just saw you added more to your post! Looks great! Did you use any specific paint on it? I've been trying to decide between that or vinyl wrapping mine.

    Removable "floating" collar on keezer?

I'll post some pics of mine when I get home. That's what I essentially did however I also used some RV foam on the edge, where the collar sits. If I ever have to turn it back into a freezer, I just remove the foam, simple enough.

    Table salt for water adjustment?

This is why I bought an RO water filter so that I could start as close to a blank slate as possible from my town's water supply. I used to buy 9-14 gallons of distilled water from Walmart to brew with but I got tired of lugging all of that home. Now I just turn on the valve to the RO system...

Returning to brewing, heating water and check to see it all works...

I learned last year to wait till day 11 or 12 before kegging. Last February, I made two different beers....Resilience IPA and an Irish Blonde Ale. Both were kegged at day 9....hydrometer sample showed no off flavors whatsoever. They tasted great! Once carbed however, BOTH had that flavor of...

Please Critique my wood sculpture 3d design

Funny you mention that! My previous hobby to homebrewing was working on cars and I loved designing air ride systems...specifically having clean/hidding wiring. So when I made mine, I wanted to have as much wiring hidden as possible, and make it super easy to adjust anything on the panel. A...

    Table salt for water adjustment?

If you use a program like Bru'n Water or BrewFather, they have water calculators to help with mineral additions and make that portion of it super easy. I just add the amounts to my mash since I do a full volume mash.

    Table salt for water adjustment?

I use it all the time, usually under 30ppm of it. I use kosher salt if that helps. Calcium Chloride and gypsum are super cheap from your LHBS. I'm still using the 1lb of both I bought 3 years ago.

Please Critique my wood sculpture 3d design

I have a wood stand with plywood top and the temp of the kettle doesn't hurt anything. Looks great! When I built mine, I wanted easy access to my control panel and also make it asthetically pleasing. I saw lots of other designs where people would put the panel far away and looked like you'd...

    New house, outdoor brew area/bar

Great progress so far! I have a basement brew space that I've been wanting to re-organize and see where else I could put my keezer/ make the flow better. Keep up the great work! It's inspiring!
