    I noticed that some botles are hissing? Do i need to retighten the cap or re-cap completely? I am using polish beer bottles and one of those red cappers that you press on two sides and the cap snaps on. EDIT: posted in the bottling forum. please disregard

    So I opened a beer. It has carbonation. Tastes like... well... beer. Is there concern about too much carbonation? i.e. is the amount of carbonation proportional to the time the bottles sit at room temperature? Do i need to get them to a cool place after a while? If so, will a basement...

    When you have this in an ice bath, do you stir the wort occasionally? Or just let it be? How long does this take? I thought time is of the essence once you stop boiling your wort.

    So I bottled my first batch two days ago... took a peak at a bottle and it appears as though some yeast(i think?) has settled at the bottle of some bottles. Looks similar to wha was at the bottom of my secondary. Obvious newb question.. is this normal? Maybe this should be an acronym... ITN?

    Oy vey, one more thing to worry about. Well I sanitized dried and bottled, so hopefully i will be safe. On a side bar, I just bottled my first brew. Spent two and a half weeks in the secondary, as I was short on bottles... Oh what a shame I had to drink extra beer... Tasted like flat beer...

    I just perused this thread, but I was in Munich for the last day of Oktoberfest, literally for 6 hours during a layover. I went to the Augustiner tent. Probably the best beer I drank in my life. I've been looking for it in local beer stores and had only been able to find it once.

    Got to get to drinking more beer now... purely for the sake of producing more bottles... it's a tough job but somebody has to do it. Out of curiosity, if taste the sample should it taste like flat beer?
