    Another "beer didnt carb" thread

hell if it tastes great i would drink it still. could soda stream it when one wants to drink it, of course never used the device and assume it is high pressure and not sure if it is adjustable. going to assume the availability of co2 dispensing equipment is not available since bottling. in...

What Makes a Beer Get Drier?

The noble pils was a hopped up crisp lager with a good amount of dry hopping. Had nose, taste, and back end taste. Was a great beer discontinued now. Probably due to production time/cost evaluation, full dry hopping vessels don't make room money/room for more product.

    Tap direct on keg?

i have used a control flow faucet and turned the valve down low. it was a slow pour but worked. this was beer at 35deg and 10-12psi.

    Kettle vs. Keggle

brewing in direct fired keggle never really had an issue with cleaning with a ss scour pad. maybe my sense of clean in the BK is different than most. remove the boil ring and somewhat toast on the bottom and rinse. cleaning an electric element now that could be unfavorable. but a good...

What Makes a Beer Get Drier?

i like your testing methods. I will still stand by the stated of yeast in suspension will give a beer a different flavor and mouth feel. haven't brewed a lager for many years and that was an oktoberfest beer and with the malt richness probably hid some flaws. In the near future i will be...

What Makes a Beer Get Drier?

even sinus infections will affect taste. had a co-worker and parents all come down with no taste symptoms during the covid years. all got tested and were covid free. then had a buddy that had covid and lost all taste, stated whiskey was the strangest thing couldn't taste it just the burn...

How To Get This Out of My Kettle

very true. but will work for minor touch ups, also depends on quality of stainless. and in most cases passivation really isn't required for minor abrasions and probably wont see any rust forming. cooking a pot of tomato sauce would probably take care of it.

How To Get This Out of My Kettle

if all else fails sand it out. re-passivate as required. Bar keepers friend i believe can be used for passivation there are articles somewhere.

What Makes a Beer Get Drier?

yeast in suspension can give a beer mouth feel so you could sense a slickness and have different taste. after the yeast has dropped out i would say process issue if "soapy"

What did I cook this weekend.....

the recipe i used is not sweet at all. but could have used more buttermilk, little on the dry side maybe a little sugar would help with that also.

wouldn't worry about the sugar either. picked up some moisture to soften it. even at those conditions that high concentrated sugar is not an environment for any thing other than flies and other insects.

    Old Grains

humidity would be biggest concern for storage. the adage always is chew on some if they taste fine good to go.
