    I think I found a problem....want to verify.

I brewed two really good AG beers on my first go. My 3rd and 4th are not so good-but I think I found the problem. Wanna make sure though, can anyone confirm this? I got a nice digital thermometer and I made sure it was calibrated when I first got it. I brewed my 3rd and 4th AG beers with...

    Holiday awesomeness.

Thats a good idea. I will do that. The connections for joining the tower and the kegs is coming in today, so I am going to stop off at the hardware store and pick some water line foam on the way home. Its is a freaking pain, but I dont think that would fly with the other person living in...

Frigidaire Model FRC445GB Mini-Fridge Kegerator Conversion

Yeah, its on the back hump. I got my 10# at kegconnection, actually. It is the red painted 10# tanks they have. Really like it so far and it was much cheaper than anywhere else.

Frigidaire Model FRC445GB Mini-Fridge Kegerator Conversion

Got mine transported here and set up last night. Kegs cold and carbed today, so thanks for all the work setting this up. FYI, a 10# CO2 tank fits in with two kegs easily. no problem at all.

    Holiday awesomeness.

Can't insulate the lines, unfortunately. I was going to put kegerator under counter originally, but that didn't end up happening. Its about 4 to 5 feet uninsulated and out of the fridge...I'll just slug that back and serve rest of beer once cold stuff starts coming.

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Double Chocolate Oatmeal Snout

Carbed this today. Awesome! Really good. I actually did something different. Soaked vanilla bean in half a bottle of brandy and added this to secondary for a week-would have used bourbon if I had it. However, the flavors really melded with this one and the brandy really worked. Drinkable...

    Holiday awesomeness.

Got and installed kegerator, my tower, and tasted my first AG today!!!! AG was supposed to be Anchor porter, but I knew the OG for the recipe was too low to be Anchor from the start. Its a good beer though, just not Anchor at all-doesnt have that fruity sweetness, but has nice rich flavors...

Belgian Tripel Belgian Trippel (2006 World Beer Cup Gold Medal: Dragonmead Final Absolution clone)

I used dark candy and crystal malt, so mine is a really dark golden color. My attenuation didn't come down that much more, ended up at 21 like yours, but I think that might be due to mashing my grains at too high of a temperature. Not overly sweet at all even though a higher gravity. I let...

    Help!!!

Its just possible its not releasing CO2 yet. I have had a few beers show no activity but have krausen. Its only been one day? I wouldn't worry about it yet. If your still worried, sequeze the bucket and see if it bubbles or if you hear air coming out of it. If you dont see bubbles, but...

Keg cleaning should be an Olympic sport.

Ha! That sounds like the perfect amount to me. I dont have a driveway, so it would probably to be broadway....and I really dont think anyone would take notice.

Keg cleaning should be an Olympic sport.

I’m a young athletic, marathon runner, and weight lifter. I am god %#@! tired after cleaning three kegs in a row and bottling! I'm honestly more tired now than after my workout earlier today. Its my fault for racking three beers in to kegs at once and bottling another, but still its...

    Hop Stoopid! Anyone had it?

Nice and really good for the price. I just had two. Really good smelling beer-almost like sniffing the inside of a hop bag. Suprisingly not bitter for the IBUs though...I know that sounds weird, but I have had more bitter beers. Maybe I just got used to it.

Temp reduction suckback - Let's brainstorm

I would not worry about it. From now on your beer will be cold, and nothing will grow fast. From a yeast biologist point of veiw...you got a lot of limiting factors for infection. Alcohol and yeast is your number 1 and 2. Vodka or star san is your best bet in an air lock.

Never order from AHS, AHBS, AHB, and these always confuse me. Maybe I should

Help with WLP500 for FG and bottle conditioning.

Thanks! Great, thats a huge help. I was going to let this age for a while-its going to be 10 or 12% depending where it stops. :rockin: I would have, but it stopped bubbling for several days so I figured it was done....and I broke my hydrometer trying to test it. :drunk:

Help with WLP500 for FG and bottle conditioning.

Thanks for the advice! It started bubbling again after leaving it overnight next to my radiator. Over achieved and got it up to 78F, but bringing it back down now. Ill remember not to rack it off until then next time-I was just following the recipe this time though. For the bottling though...

Controlling fermentation temperature when the wife won't let you in the house?

I used to use a rubbermaid with water in my enclosed porch. Even with 20 degree changes in temp, it stayed fairly constant within a few degrees. Particularly if you add frozen water bottles or warm water (depending on temp outside). I cut a hole in the lid of the tub that was the exact size...

Help with WLP500 for FG and bottle conditioning.

I brewed a quad about 3 weeks ago today with an OG of 1.095. Pitched two vials of WLP500 which I know is under pitching but it started vigorously fermenting in 2 to 3 days. Left in primary for 10 days and transferred to secondary for the rest of the time. Its been at 1.022 for a week now...

    I don't care if it's 9:42 am

Its still dangerous for me. When we genetics kids go out, its all science jokes-mostly yeast jokes too. We must get more annoying the more we drink to whomever brought their non-scientist friend. Last time we had a debate over how many beers we needed to have in order to find a mutant yeastie...
