Is it ok to brew beer if I don't have a beard ??

I grew a beard shortly before I started homebrewing with no intention of homebrewing at that point. Perhaps beards also have mystical properties that drive the grower to homebrew. :D

See if your infection is comparable to any of them in the post on my sig. :fro:

    AHS Sour Ginger Peach Ale

:off: I know, but I thought I'd chime in and give AHS props for their Orange Creamsicle Ale too. The only modification I did was add the juice and zest of an entire orange, plus an alc boost. It was the first kicked keg at a recent party. The reason I say this is because i had to pick between...

    Galactic Blonde

Vienna has surplus diastatic enzymes, and aromatic has enough to convert itself, so you should be fine. :)

    Pumpkin Stout

My suggestion would be to get some cheap vodka or neutral spirit and steep the spices in a small amount of it. This way you'll have a spice liquer(melange? :p) and can add as little or as much as you want into secondary. Oh, and you'll get flavor. I made AHS's Pumpkin Ale and Special Holiday...

    Shiner Ruby Redbird Clone Recipe

I remember trying it last year and wasn't terribly impressed, but this year the ginger seemed to be more prevalent. I enjoyed it much more this year!

    Feedback on Pumpkin Stout Recipe

Really, the "pumpkin" flavor comes from the spices. I would think that at most you would only have to use 2 of the large cans of Libby's Pumpkin. Let me know how it turns out, I've been toying with the idea of brewing a darker pumpkin ale this year (I'm waiting to brew until mid-spetember so...

popping the question, how did you do it?

Just do it when it feels right. I had a plan laid out and everything, then one night we were watching fireworks (with a full moon brightening up the sky) from the roof of our townhome on the fourth of July drinking beer. I went down to refresh our beer and the thought hit me to propose right...

FG 1.030, Could this be bad?

If you're PM'ing your OG is not going to be off by 10 points. You get more flavor from a PM than you do gravity points. Maybe you got shorted on extract or you didn't add enough?

Bizarre results pitching on a yeast cake

Haha, yes, clearly you have been drinking. I would say just RDWHAHB (another?) and let it sit. Sitting is always good.

    Ugly Americans (netflix)

I love Ugly American's! I think my favorite part from the first season was when Randall told the mouth "down south" girl that she has a dirty mouth, lol.

I would love to be alive to see a manned mission to mars as well. I'd also like to be alive to see the first interstellar jump/warp/fold/whateveryoucallit. :fro:

    Hello from Manor, TX

Welcome to the club! I miss having AHS so close! (I'm actually in Fort Worth now, but my sig still says Austin for some reason)

    Pumpkin Ale

I did mine too early last year by brewing it in late August. It was so good it hardly lasted thru early October. This year I plan on brewing it mid-september so it will be ready by mid-october. :mug:

    Flocs or pellicle?

It looks like bubbles to me. I racked a beer to secondary once and got lots of bubbles after everything had settle. It could be degassing or possibly entering a small fermentation with some residual sugars. Here's the quintessential "is it infected thread:"...

    Just joined from Texas

I would consult with Google to see if you can make small batches of Mead. I'm sure an old wine jug would work well for a one gallon fermenter.

    Just joined from Texas

Glad I could help! If you've never had mead I would suggest trying a few bottles first. My personal favorite is one from Fredericksburg, Texas called Oberhof Mead: http://www.bellmountainwine.com/oberhofwines.htm It's on the dry side (not very sweet), so if you're looking for something sweeter...

    Infected? Cant figure out why

That film on the side is what is left from your krausen, perfectly normal! The brownish/black stuff is what your beer will look like eventually; the yeast has settled/is settling out and will continue to do so! Also, this is the go to "is my beer infected" thread...
