    Stir plate

Hops can inhibit yeast growth so I would not put them in my starters. If you need to add anything, add nutrient or yeast food. Mix a ration of 10:1 (water:DME) ie 1000ml water + 100g DME, boil 10 min., cool, aerate and pitch. You can use any sanitary container for a starter (mason jars work...

    Oatmeal Stout FG - 1.025

That sounds about right, not very much but does add some. Which means you are still high on your FG. How/what temp did you do your mash for the grains?

    wort chiller not so chill

You missed one thing...stiring the wort will also help decrease the time it takes to cool. I just use the IC to stir with. You can also cover your pot with an extra lid that has a notch cut out. I can cool 10G in 20 minutes to 80* F with a 50' coil and I use the water by letting it flow...

    Water Adjustments

Add your water adjustments in ratio to the water you are using. If you use 2 G of water out of a total 6 G to mash, then add 1/3 of your salts to your mash. Add the rest to the boil. If you calculate correctly you mash should be fine without the 5.2. If you do that your pH will be way off.

    Wild beer roll call

Just tried some framboise that is ~6 months. I used only WY labic blend to ferment. It is very sour but good. A little more aging and I think it will mellow a little to near perfect. It was a kit I added rasp to but have now moved to AG...anyone have a good AG recipe? I was going for a...

Wineberries...what do I do with these? Wine :)

They are a species of raspberry Rubus phoenicolasius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I have found a bunch of these berries and have been picking them and putting them in the freezer until I have a bunch. They are a little tart but good. I could not find any reference to making wine with...
