iSpindel - Can't connect to Wifi AP

I shouldn't have to set my address in order to connect to the access point, in most cases I might connect, but not actually get an address, but I'm pretty certain that the iSpindel has a DHCP server. I appreciate the reply though. Thanks!

iSpindel - Can't connect to Wifi AP

Just looking if anyone has ran into this, or has any suggestions. I built it, and flashed it with the latest firmware (6.3.1). When I reset it and get it into configuration mode, I see the AP in my wifi list, but can't connect to it. Windows says "Can't connect to network", and I've tried it...

Tell my why I shouldn’t use a bag for a filter in my mash tun.

I do use the bag in the mash tun as well, although I have a false bottom in there too. Started playing around with BiaB and so far, so good. I think I might be sticking with it.

    Small town brewery

I can totally understand that, but the way I see it, things change. Imagine the beers get really popular, and they start distributing farther away or the small town gets bigger. I don't think that they are going to drop prices so that they barely break even. If that's the case, then OP was part...

    Small town brewery

My two bits would be do it if you want to. Maybe plan the opening after the start of your summer vacation so you have some time to learn the ropes. I would also agree that talking with a brewer close by would be a good idea, maybe see if you can help out with a brew day... I've always heard...

Just For Fun! Song themed beer names

I like that! The IPA I usually make with leftover hops is "Kitchen Sink IPA", but I totally think I'm going to steal this... How about: "The Immigrant Strong" (Strong Ale) "The Last in Lime" (Dio Parody - Maybe a Florida Weisse) "Born to be Mild" "Rind of the Ancient Mariner" (Iron Maiden) "The...

Looong Break from Brewing - What to Brew

I say whatever your favorite quick beer is. I took a 4 year break, and a Hefeweizen was my first "getting back in the saddle" beer.

From the Brew Kettle to the Fermenter

I intentionally try to get as much trub as I can. I've heard / read that it's good for the yeast. When I rack for bottling I avoid it, but not for the initial fermentation. I don't worry about the hop pellet bits, but I don't put whole leaf hops into the fermenter.

    Can I double 1gal kits?

I am sooooo overdue to make a kitchen sink pale ale / IPA. I have just a ton of hop remnants that I need to use up. I'm planning on using them for bittering, and then buy some fresh hops for Aroma / dry hop.

    Can I double 1gal kits?

That's not a bad plan :-) Best of luck!

    Can I double 1gal kits?

There are some hop age calculators out there, but they should last for at least a year if you seal them up tight in a zip lock, get all the air out, and then store them in the freezer.

    Can I double 1gal kits?

Using the full pack of yeast sounds like exactly what you should do. As for the LME, it all depends on how exact you want to be. If you're a "what the hell, it'll still be beer" brewer (I'm like that sometimes), then go ahead and add it in. However, if you want to stick to the recipe, then I...

    Can I double 1gal kits?

If you're doubling the boil volume then it should be fine. There is an issue with getting the correct hop utilization for partial boil recipes (recipes where you boil 2 or 3 gallons and then add water to get to 5 Gallons), but if the final batch size is 2 Gallons, and you're doubling the boil...

    Any use for trub?

For the trub, besides rinsing it, or racking another beer on top, the only other use I've heard of is to use the slurry to make some bread. As for spent grain, I've made dog biscuits before. Here's an example recipe: http://www.17apart.com/2013/07/how-to-make-spent-beer-grain-dog-treats.html...

Question: forgot to add priming sugar to bucket

I've individually primed bottles before with 1/2 tsp of sugar, and they turned out just fine. I've heard it's not recommended because it's hard to be consistent, and I don't make it a regular practice except for small batches. It sure is cheaper than buying the carb tabs though. Although I've...

    Denver CMC group grain buy.

The grain stores really well, so long as you can keep it in a dry place with a pretty constant temperature. However, my 2 bits is that you shouldn't buy any until you've started all grain brewing, or know you're going to be doing it soon. With All grain brewing, it isn't terribly harder than...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I see an empty keg as an opportunity :p I still shout "Yes!" every time I empty a keg. That means I don't have to bottle the next batch. :ban:

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'll be brewing my Sweet Mutt Honey Brown (from a Honey Brown Northern Brewer Recipe Kit). I'll be ending a long stretch of not brewing, and getting to test out my new MLT. W00t!
