A bottled five gallon batch of Irish Red Ale has been carbing up at 67 degrees for three weeks. I want to cold crash it, but never have before. When, how long, and at what temperature? Thanks!

My thinking was that I could use a single body reg, leading to four Duotight secondary regs in parallel. Then each to a faucet with same-length lines, and making minor adjustments with the FC faucets. Total cost would be a bit more, but the increased flexibility would be worth it -- I could go...

I'll have kegs at different pressures. Is there some line length that will put me in the ballpark for everything, with flow control faucets fine tuning it as needed? What about FC quick disconnects?

Try one of THESE (click). It's a soft side cooler, zips around the top, and will fit any carboy or bucket. I have one, used it before I got my chest freezer. Gallon milk bottles, filled with water and frozen, swapped out as needed, cool it really well....down to 60 if you need it.

I was reminded a couple weeks ago how much I don't like bottling! Trying to determine what the general cost of a four tap 7.2 cf keezer would be for me. Perlick and Intertap faucets are both front sealing. From a practical perspective, why would somebody choose Perlick and its higher cost...

What type lagers did you brew that way?

You mention duotight fittings. If on the fermenter, what sort is it?

Thanks for all the replies...I ended up getting THAT ONE. Haven't really used it to rinse bottles with water, but did use it to sanitize them when I bottled a few days ago (Sunday). Every time before I'd totally submerge bottles in a bucket of Starsan, and pour each out just before filling it...

Are there certain styles that are better suited for this? And, in particular, how would a doppelbock end up?

I've only read about it, so take this with a boulder of salt... But in some of the online articles it's said that pressure impedes yeast growth. For that reason some recommend that you start at ambient pressure, and at normal temperature, with the system sealed. Then, after it pressures up...

Thanks for the replies! As it applies to rinsing with water, was really just wondering if it would be good for immediately after a bottle is emptied. Not so much for getting rid of crud.

Yeah, I have a Jet washer and love it. But we re-did all of the bathrooms...and the Jet won't attach to any of the new faucets! :no:

Does anyone have any experience with the "Vinator" style bottle rinsers...both for rinsing with water and with sanitizer? Are they any good...in particular THIS ONE or THAT ONE? Looking for something to keep set up for quick rinses as bottles are emptied. Really missing the sink-mounted Jet in...

OxyClean is less expensive, but is it as effective? Which do you use when cleaning bottles and why? Or, do you use something else?

And... how tough a job is it to disassemble?
