One of us should probably tell Jamil Zainasheff.

If I place an order today (Wednesday), do you think I'll have it by end of day Friday? I'm in a suburb of Dallas.

Good substitution for Fuggles in an English IPA?

Thanks! Turns out that AHS did have it...needed to search for it by item number, not by "fuggles".

Good substitution for Fuggles in an English IPA?

Brewing Jamil's English IPA, which calls for these hops Challenger 8%, 1.43 oz, 60 min Fuggles 5%, 1.50 oz, 10 min Kent Goldings 5%, 1.50 oz, 0 min I can't get the Fuggles. What would be a good substitution? Thanks

    Thermometers

When checking the kettle, I always give it a swirl with my spoon first to mix. Otherwise it's going to be hotter at the bottom (unless it's boiling, in which case you don't need to measure). A true instant read thermometer especially shines when you're cooking. Even a Thermopen Mk IV takes 3...

Any promo codes or discounts for BYO?

They used to have periodic 2-for-1 specials. Is there anything like that going on now? Thanks

Can aeration before pitch cause oxidation?

Is it possible to overdo it?

Can aeration before pitch cause oxidation?

Before pitching, I aerate by putting the capped carboy across my legs as I sit, and then rocking it repeatedly. It gets churned up pretty good, even foamy. Could that lead to oxidation down the line? I don't think I've had any, but then most of my brews are gone within a month or so. Thanks

Are English IPAs especially susceptible to oxidation?

Would like to do an English IPA, thinking about the recipe in Jamil's book. Any thoughts on it? Suggestions for a better one? Also, are English IPAs particularly susceptible to oxidizing, the way hazy IPAs are?

    Ferroday Faucets?

Sorry about that. I posted a question on amazon and and somebody who bought said the same (rear sealing). Been looking at so many lately, must have gotten something eing mixed up.

    Ferroday Faucets?

Came across these on Amazon. Reviews are pretty good, and it says they're front-sealing. Beside that, does anybody know anything about them? Compared to Intertap/Nukatap and Perlick? Faucet With Shank Flow Control Faucet With Shank and Ball Lock Disconnect

    EVABarrier Resistance per foot?

Just to clarify, I'd use flow control faucets to add extra resistance when the line doesn't provide enough.

    EVABarrier Resistance per foot?

According to the charts, at 45 degrees I'd need nine pounds for 2 volumes and 21 pounds for three volumes. Suppose I size all lines for 15 pounds? Anything with less than 15 pounds wouldn't need any extra FC resistance. Anything above 15 and the FC could dial it up. Would I be able to get a...

    EVABarrier Resistance per foot?

Just what is the resistance of 3/16" EVABarrier? Some posts on HBT seem to say it's about 1 psi per foot, but others say that they use lengths as short as 4 or 5 feet for everything; still others say they use 10 feet or more. Meanwhile, Williams Brewing's website says 2.8 psi per foot. Which is...

Shanks, Fittings, and Lines for Keezer Build

Looking for considerations when getting these for a keezer build. What types and where best to get them? Where fittings are concerned, are push-ins advised? If so, which is the brand to go with?
