    Using corny for primary?

I’m not worried about the weight. I lift regularly and one lift into the chamber is totally fine with me. I also brew in a foundry and would pump transfer on the floor and haul it. Trust me I’d much prefer to get the 6 gallon for space but the 10 gallon seems more versatile.

    Using corny for primary?

I have a flotit 2.0 on order. I’m hoping that will replace cutting dip tubes. I’m also hoping to avoid having to use fermcap, although it’s always there if I need it. My fear with the 6 gallon is not having enough headspace. I’m leaning toward getting a 10 gallon.

    Using corny for primary?

I was thinking of getting the 6 gallon for 5 gallon batches but saw that 10 gallon for a little more money and would give me plenty of headspace. Just wondering if I’m too concerned about it and should stick with that 6 gallon.

    Using corny for primary?

Anyone use one of these for 5 gallon batches? Or would that 6 gallon be more practical? Thinking about krausen. https://www.morebeer.com/products/ball-lock-torpedo-keg-10-gal.html

    D-47 under pressure

Has anyone tried to pressure ferment D-47? I’m most interested in this yeast under pressure but any experience with pressure fermenting a mead I’d love to hear about.

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

Update: must have been a fluke that day because I poured a couple pints this evening and didn’t have foam issues. Don’t know what the deal is. I added 2 stouts last weekend set to 10 psi and they both poured perfectly.

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

I love them, so far. I don’t have any line stress and no leaks that I can tell. You can over tighten them. An easy solution to this is to, well, not over tighten them. I tightened by hand and then added a 1/4 turn with a wrench. No issues. There is a mental aspect to them. Because of how easy...

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

I’m at 40F. I don’t know what the deal is. It’s been sitting at 12 psi for a couple weeks, carbing. Never shook it or anything. I cranked it to 20 psi for a night to give it a head start so I don’t think it’s over carbed.

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

I thought I was based on the 5.5 ft recommendation. It can’t hurt to keep a bunch of extra around, anyway. It’s pretty affordable stuff.

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

I don’t necessarily ferment drier but I do prefer slightly higher carbonation than most people probably do. I might add a couple feet and see if that helps. edit: drier, not higher

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

I have and I’m getting quite a bit of foam. I’m wondering if it’s because gravity isn’t a factor, really. It’s the opposite problem where it actually has a slight momentum from gravity because of the keg location. It’s not an insane amount but it’s enough that it makes the beer flat.

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

Dang. Guess I’m gonna have to buy another roll. Maybe I’ll get the 39 ft one this time.

    4mm ID Beer Line (EVABarrier)

I’m hoping someone here would have some insight: I have built a 4 keg kegerator. Two kegs are level with the taps and the other two are about 2 feet below the taps. For the ones that are level with the tap (the middle of the keg being level with the tap) I typed in the diameter of the 4mm...

Kegerator build: need help deciding how many taps

That’s a great idea but I’d have to plumb a line to the fridge. We bought that used from a friend to replace our other fridge but it didn’t fit upstairs so it’s been sitting downstairs. I have used it as a ferment chamber and more so to store my kegs and serving with a picnic tap. I wish the...

Kegerator build: need help deciding how many taps

Here’s the final product. I’m thinking about covering the water and ice dispenser on the freezer side with a chalkboard of some kind to list the beers. It isn’t hooked up to water and is inoperable. I’ll also put a drip tray on at some point. Other than all that I’m pretty happy. All the gas is...

    Pumpkin Ale with Kveik Yeast

I just poured another glass today and it seems like it might be getting better. I bumped up the carbonation which is finally bringing out the spices I added. It still tastes thin but it’s better for sure. Gotta have it ready for tomorrow so I’m bumping up the pressure to get it a little more...

    Regulators and pressure

I think I figured this out. I’ve always cranked the regulator until it hits the pressure then back it off until it stops. Not all the way open but too much. I think I back it off too much and even when the gauge says 12, the regulator is set to like 8 or something. So when the co2 dissolves...

    Regulators and pressure

I have noticed that every time I carb my keg, I will set my pressure to say 12 psi for set and forget. Ill hear the tank and see the gauge rise to 12 psi. I’ll go back the next day and the gauge will read 9 psi or something less than what I set it. So I would always just turn the knob and set...

Kegerator build: need help deciding how many taps

I opted for that board as well. I read that those pieces were 50mm so I cut some 8mm tubing to that length. Seems to be good but like I said everything just seems so sketchy. I didn’t change out the gauges but I did pull each one out to change the orientation. I did not think to apply keg lube...

Kegerator build: need help deciding how many taps

@Knightshade have you ever had any leaks in your duotight regulators? Mine are hooked up and I have 2 kegs carving. No leaks that I can tell. Hit it all with some starsan and didn’t see anything leaking. But those things just look like they would leak. So many connections. Guess I’m paranoid.
